  2. QFT. Straight DOXed. Since I'm here: flight pay whats up with it?
  3. Don't go too crazy there big hoss, with the FC1 you can only exercise the privileges of a FAA Class 3, which for most is good to fly their own Cessna around. *Caveat, I have heard of dual flight surgeons/AMEs which can issue a FAA Class 1. But if you go out with your 2992 or whatever stupid form medical gives you once a year and anytime you RTFS, you're FAA Class 3. To answer the original post, if I could afford it I would fly GA more.
  4. ATC at KWRI wants a flight plan filed to transit to KNEL, 5 miles away...
  5. If for any reason you de-pressurize in flight make sure you check on your pax and seriously consider diverting to an excellent American air base before continuing 5 hours to the sandbox.
  6. Cool. I am 99% sure I have read the story you're referencing now.
  7. Was this the guys on the way to a deployment?
  8. You didn't really answer any of the two questions posed to you. Advice, should have taken the IRR option and started a career in politics.
  9. Probably because there is 1 guard unit that flies the thing and they are probably too busy fighting the war from a sandy location.
  10. I finally went and did some digging on this... It's a load of shit quite frankly... https://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/PLAW-114publ328/pdf/PLAW-114publ328.pdf On PDF page 161 of this document (the FY 2017 NDAA) you will find this text So what does this mean? Well here you find what they amended: https://uscode.house.gov/download/annualhistoricalarchives/pdf/2012/2012usc37.pdf On PDF page 123 you will find this text: Earlier in Title 37 there is a table that lists the ACIP rates as you find them in the DFAS pay charts, the max is $840. So all they did in the 2017 NDAA is up that max allowed rate $150. Peanuts. $150 more authorized on a piece of US code that has not been touched since 1989. Now the House just passed HR 2810 which you will find no mention of ACIP, however in this bill they did increase max bonus to $50k. Bottom line; what's the deal here? Do military aviators not have a good lobby or advocate in DC? It seems the MOAA is more concerned with retirees than people on active duty. Have we had our heads in the clouds (literally and figuratively) for too long that we have been afraid to bring up the compensation issue as part of the grander pilot retention program? Why has nobody been paying attention to this facet of being a military aviator? What do we need to do to bring attention to this issue? It's my belief that if you hook them up early, combined with a bonus at the end of their commitment aviators may be less fed up and ready to punch at the 10 y 1 d after getting those wings.

  12. I'm surprised you ever took off.
  13. This is the same argument civilian pilots have been making since the late 90s-2000s after many pilots started taking jobs where they had to pay for their own initial training, and then get paid sub-$20k/year... all after paying for all their training. Now regional airlines are hurting so bad they have to offer substantial signing bonuses because the well dried of people who would pay them for experience.
  14. Yeah I screwed up and applied for the Arrival card before checking as I already have AA card at 0% Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
