Dude, you are screwed. There's no way the Air Force is going to let some crazy ass 10 year old rabbit killer in. Psycho.

"Lead on the right" means that the element lead has passed responsibility for leading the flight to number two, who is to the right of the flight lead. "Tac Lead" means that 2 is leading the flight tactically, i.e. taking them to a merge because 1's radar is broke.

By the way, that defensive egg should be jinking, not flaring. But that might be gouge, too. Or even secret.

Yeah, like instead of "Bra" it's our "Bro." Or Man-ziere, if you will.

In PACAF Viper guys don't have to wear the "Bro" anymore unless you are flying twice and pulling G's on the second sortie.
  10. Dudes, the AF is taking away our traditions one roll call, song book, and pilot naming and a time. I say let's hang on to what we have left before we turn into a bunch of no fun, purpose driven robots.
  11. Deweygcc - What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I've ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response was there anything that could even be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul!
  12. You non-ers are missing the f-ing point. UPT isn't college; I wasn't there to get magna-cum-bullshit and a job at IBM. The point of EPQ's isn't to rack and stack guys. The point is to ensure that the students KNOW the material on the test. Because their life depends on it, not their career. That's why active duty squadron's have MQF's. So guys know the answers to the IMPORTANT questions. That's also why they aren't essay tests. Because usually there is only 1 right answer. So if students get together to make sure they know the answers to questions that their lives depend on, good for them. And guess what, Dewey, if I was going to the merge with a Mig-29 and forgot the Alamo's max range, I'd ask my bro. It's called teamwork, douche.
  13. I busted 2 rides in all of pilot training, but they were back to back in T-38's. I got put on CAP. It's pretty sweet: you only fly once a day and you only fly with a couple of IPs. I enjoyed it. CAP is meant to help you, not hurt you. I also busted 2 rides in IFF, also back to back. Guess what? CAP!! Other than the bright red "CAP" sheet on the front of your gradebook, there isn't really an stigma attached. It's not something to worry about.

I've heard (from my Mormon bro in UPT who flies Buffs, who's brother also flies Buffs) that there are a surprising number of Mormon Buff drivers.

It's not all fun and games? Seriously, there are those types out there. I had a person like that in my squadron, and it is tough to bond with them when they are never around in social situations. But when it's time to fly personal opinions take a backseat to getting the job done.

Citizen makes some really nice watches for decent prices. I'm not sure about online sales, though.

Callsigns can change, but if you have combat time with a callsign, it will usually stick with you as you change assignments. At least that's how we do it in our squadron.
  21. Beaver replied to a post in a topic in General Discussion
You have the right idea about callsigns. If your Tactical Fighter Pilot Callsign is Ghost and you go to a new squadron that already has a Ghost, chances are you will get renamed.

Here, let me rephrase my original post. A. It evolved. B. It looks cool. C. We can...wear our covers however the **** we want without some prick opening his man pleaser and making himself sound like an envious wannabe.

ANG Fighters are still a viable guard position. However, fighter units are closing or converting because we aren't expecting the hordes from Russia to come over the poles anymore. We are projecting our power, and we need more tankers and airlifters to do that. I think they will reach a balance and stop closing bases. You mentioned Sioux City IA converting to KC-135s; Iowa had 2 Viper units. Why does Iowa need two F-16 units? It made sense to close one. A guy in my B-course was the last F-16 selectee from Suck City. I think he's flying KC-135's now.
  25. I have my dog in Japan, and we didn't get the chip until after we got there. I don't really know what's on the chip. Probably just the ID. You have to bring all you pets shot records, and there is a limit on how recent your dog's rabies shot has to be. I don't know about the european requirements, but you didn't specify over which sea, so I hope this helps.
