Palace Chase info
Current guidance (as of 4 weeks ago) from the Viper porch is that Palace Chase is merely a pipe dream now, and they will waive precisely ZERO of your ADSC. I imagine it can't be too different in other airframes. Never hurts to ask though.

Squadron Entertainment
Without going into things I can't discuss on here given how anonymous baseops really isn't, I assure you they aren't an option for this gathering. Any other ideas?

Squadron Entertainment
Finally getting named this weekend, and of course, we're tasked with providing the "pre-namage" entertainment. What are some of the better/funnier skits you all have seen in a roll-call type setting? Any ideas? We're not at home station, so that does make it a little more difficult... Thanks in advance! Edited to add: the boss has ruled out strippers.

Flight (Pubs) Bags
Has anyone here ordered from Royal Bag off the website since it went to 69% Korean language? I used them a few years ago when the website was mostly english, but it's changed.....

Shipping POV to England?
In less words, you can ship or store 1 car. The AF doesn't care at all about your 2nd vehicle. I feel your pain Vetter...we shipped the mini-van over here while my F-150 is sitting in my parents driveway.

Capt Malinda Hammond IS My Hero!
Why is it worse in the Marines? Compared to the SF, the MP is in shape to kick your ass, and he knows how to use his gun.

Cell Phone Contracts?
Prefer new, but used (or "refurbished") would be ok too. I'm just not a fan of buying used stuff off of eBay. It's it new, I have no problems with that.

Cell Phone Contracts?
Is there anyway/anywhere to purchase them besides off of eBay then? I called an AT&T store before we left the States and they wouldn't sell me a phone without a contract...otherwise, I'd just go that route. I don't mind paying for the phone, but I'm not going to pay for it over here unless mother blue starts paying me in Euros.

Cell Phone Contracts?
Anyone here have any recent experience with cancelling a Cingular account that is still under contract because you're PCSing overseas? I'm looking to pick up an iPhone back in the States because they cost 500Euro (about $730 given the current crappy exchange rate) over here. I'll be back in the states for a little over a month (we've already PCSed) and I'd pick up the phone then, use it for the month or two that we're back in the States (about $730 given the current crappy exchange rate) and then cancel the contract when we go back to Europe. Any idea if this is possible, or does anyone else have a better idea?

SERE/Land survival info
Unless something has changed since I went 4 years ago, they will absolutely, positively not let you wear contacts out in the field, or to the RT lab. I don't even wear glasses, but I do remember them saying that multiple times.

SOS/ACSC information
Just doing my part to keep the SOS thread alive.... Anyone on here have any knowledge and/or experience about getting a TAFCS waiver for SOS in residence? Easy or difficult to do?

ACSC paper bashes on the pilot bonus
Someone should invite the Major on over to baseops and let us see him try to counter the arguments from actual AF pilots, not statistics. Hacker...I think you and Major Spwings under-estimated your 2nd point. The suck continues to grow exponentially every day, and the bonus is a tool (sts) that allows dudes to stop, take a deep breath, and say "OK....I think I can put up with this shiite for another 5 years." Being as "cool" as the j o b is looked upon by outsiders, I doubt that we will ever have a shortage of dudes applying for UPT, but you can bet that we grow closer and closer to the line everyday where almost no one will stay past their initial committment regardless of how much money mother blue throws at him/her. Like Dmeg130 said, the "relective belt factor." ACP is just delaying when we reach that point. Also, don't forget that $125K in 1989 dollars ain't anywhere near what it is in 2009 dollars. From a 6.9 google search, $125K in 1989 is equal to $207K in 2007 (latest data available). If my math is correct, we're only making 60% of what the original bonus was anyways.

I've been having this problem again for the past month or so. Cookies enables, flyingsquadron.com listed as a "safe" site, and all other websites I'm on remain logged in. Anyone else having this problem now?- SEC Championship
Sorry M2......Bama is good, top 5, but they aren't one of the top 2 in the country. Gators are 1, and I could still give 2 to either OU or UT. I do think that OU will win though.....Stoops is due for another one, and to not choke in a BCS game.- Mentoring

New info: confirm what Huggy said about taking the tests now....basically, they might write new FOI, FIA, and FII tests solely for the mil comp guys, and they might not. If they do, and you've already taken the any of the above old tests, they might work.....or they might not. Standby to standby... - Staying logged in
