I doubt those two offices are talking to each other.

There is a survey held close by the seniors that shows real fatigue in the force, and a building resentment...
Care to elaborate? Is it just fighter pilots or the force in general?
-
It's just a bad system. Just because some people can make it work despite the system doesn't mean it shouldn't be changed.
Do you think it's easier to find more awesome squadron commanders or to just fix the broken system?
-
I wouldn't draw too many conclusions from that. There could be 400 applications processing for all we know.
-
I'm guessing we haven't seen the end of the FY14 force shaping initiatives. If the budget gets slashed...
-
Mislead? You think he's spreading bad info on purpose? One of the reasons this site is so popular is because the air force's rules are so numerous, hard to understand, hidden, and ever changing. We use it to crush WOMs. You are angry or surprised that people don't understand the BPZ process? Really?

Possibly true, but it doesn't matter. Just like when they moved the last Majors board back. Everyone will still pin on at the same time, there will just be less time between getting promoted and pinning on.
Mmmmm, check is still in the mail on that one. I'll believe it when I see it.

Probably a good year to do traditional. Wouldn't want to go Roth in the 173k tax bracket.
-
Is there any gotcha if you get a restricted ATP with 750 hours? Does it automatically become a normal ATP when you hit 1500?
-
Referencing the above, looks like my info was bad. That said, if you do the ATP written it's good for two years. Do it within the next year to save a lot of ass pain.

The Korean press is going to great lengths to pin the blame on Boeing or the airport.
I am in Korea, and have been watching Korean news for days. This is not true.

Here's a good roundup, including some 777 discussion (like why the auto throttle might not have kicked in to prevent a stall) :

After flying in the latter part of OIF and in OND I would argue that no, the joint force doesn't even know what we do. It's our own fault though; the AOC did nothing to enable airpower as long as the JTAR request slide was green.
-
Solution: just non-vol cadets to UPT. It's just a numbers game. Remember, apparently we're all replaceable.

I don't understand how stop loss would actually be implemented. What do you do, stop loss all pilots until their O5 look and then kick out a bunch of majors? It seems like stop loss only works as a temporary measure while you create a long term fix. What's the long term fix in this case? 15 year ADSCs?

I'd think our senior leaders would be more ashamed of our inability to procure weapon systems, our incredibly inefficient mobility systems, and our overall lack of readiness as a military service rather than call signs or sts. I guess I'll be more of a MAJCOM staff push guy due to my lack of perspective.

It's sad that people are forced to ask these questions on an internet message board rather than just being able to ask their boss.
On the other hand, it's awesome that this board exists to answer questions like this. I don't know what I'd do without bops.

Yes, a few will still get out, but $100K+ per year pay until retirement, free medical for the entire family, guaranteed retirement at O-5 of $52K+ per year and climbing, AND $225K signing bonus with $112.5K up front?
Guaranteed for 80+% (75% in the zone, 5+% BPZ)
So 80% is synonymous with "guarantee"? I'm actually starting to believe that you're from AFPC.

I would bet my career that next year's -11F retention numbers for 2002/2003 will exceed ALL expectations after this year's (very late) bonus raise.
Quoted to reference after next year's numbers come out.
... guaranteed retirement at O-5 ...What are you talking about? The bonus you sign doesn't even guarantee that you'll get to serve to 20. The Air Force could kick you out at 12 years and make you pay back $87.5k of that $112.5k bonus check you got up front.

YGBSM.
Thankfully, this doesn't happen in the CAF.
This does happen in the CAF, and happened at your base the last time your sister squadron got back from the desert. Think about how many FAIP wingmen were coming up on their Major's board...
Or, ever seen the used-to-be-an-ALO requal'd ADO that's in the IPUG because he's "leadership" now?
-
I'm not sure if $1500 a month from 16-20 years is really going to be enough incentive for people who are considering leaving.
-
Liquid, you are really good at spouting off the talking points. I bet you did really well at SOS. I would also bet you haven't been operational in a while.

Guess that means HFP and CZTE are done for there?
No, reference Osan or Aviano.
