  1. Little help: we have been scratching our heads over here trying to figure out what the slang is for the female between ages say 25-39 w/OUT kids. Milf is out with the no kids, and cougars are over 40, no?

Nessies: There are rumors that they exist, but no one sober has ever actually seen one.

  2. "Our troops have fought valiantly there, but Iraq has deprived them of the support they need — and deserve. As a result, parts of Afghanistan are falling into the hands of the Taliban, and a mix of terrorism, drugs and corruption threatens to overwhelm the country. As president, I would deploy at least two additional brigades to Afghanistan to re-enforce our counterterrorism operations and support NATO's efforts against the Taliban."

    -Barack Obama Aug 1, 2007

His stance on Afghanistan (not to be confused with Iraq) has always been to put more troops on the ground. Are your memories that bad? To much bong resin in the cranium?

Put down the Obama kool aid and read flyingwolf's post.

I think most people are aware of this... just remarking on the irony of extreme left-wing hate for "evil-bloodthirsty" Bush and acceptance of Obama's war plans

  3. I'm so sick of you academy grad, storm trooper assimilated pencil dick peons waving your self-righteous core values in my face while you recite your Airman's Creed in the flight planning room.

I appreciate your rage against the establishment, but why did you quote my post about T-44 drops in your post?

    Fail.

  4. I will never forget day one of UPT when a Captain came into the classroom to remind us to quiet down during a break from death by powerpoint and one of my fellow STUDS simply said "Sorry Sir, we thought the meeting next door was finished." He was immediately stood at attention and harshly reminded that he was speaking to an IP and that he needs to stand at attention when addressing superior officers. This all took place in front of the entire class and an A1C that was giving us our Life Support brief on day 1. Awesome.

You where in a formal training program on day one. Suck it up.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but that's what I think.

Your guess about what happened to spark the email wasn't close.

  5. A Canadian man, apparently unable to find the perfect woman, has done the next best thing — he's built himself one. Le Trung, a 33-year-old software engineer who lives with his parents in Brampton, Ontario, a suburb of Toronto, says he's spent about $20,000 so far on Aiko, a 5-foot-tall female android with clear skin, a slim if shapely figure and a wonderful disposition.

I stopped reading after this point.

  6. I don't see what the big deal is -- I think the Maj has a point that is valid.

The way you guys are nit-picking the way the message was transmitted is some of the most retarded sh*t I've seen on this site in a while.

So what if this ADO hadn't done anything about it YET. Having let it go in the past never prohibits you from taking action on it now. In fact, what he's saying is that he made a mistake in the past, and he's taking care of it now...and wants the rest of the IPs to do the same. I fail to see where there's a problem with that.

As for pot-calling-kettle with the Major complaining about professionalism and then calling Lieutenants "dude"...so what? RHIP. I don't remember anything about higher ranking officers owing any kind of customs and courtesies to lower ranking officers. He can call them "ass monkey" for all I care, and it still doesn't assauge the Lieutenants' need to use customs and courtesies when addressing higher ranking officers. The email was sent to other IPs, anyway. I can see that there would be a problem getting the message across if he was personally addressing the Lieutenants and calling them 'dude', but that's not what is happening here.

    Completely agree.

  7. That article is great. The first paragraph claims:

    -------------------------------------------------------

SWEET HOME, Ore. — An Oregon woman who is out $400,000 after falling for a well-known Internet scam says she wasn't a sucker or an easy mark.

    -----------------------------------------------

And then you go on reading the article....

    -----------------------------------------------

Janella Spears of Sweet Home says she simply became curious when she received an e-mail promising her $20.5 million if she would only help out a long-lost relative identified as J.B. Spears with a little money up front. Spears told KATU-TV about the scammers' ability to identify her relative by name was persuasive. "That's what got me to believe it," She said. "So, why wouldn't you send over $100?"

Spears, who is a nursing administrator and CPR teacher, said she mortgaged the house and took a lien out on the family car, and ran through her husband's retirement account. "The retirement he was dreaming of — cruising and going around and seeing America — is pretty much gone for him right now," she said.

She estimates it will take two years to clear the debt that accumulated in the more than two years she spent sending money to con artists.

The scheme is often called the "Nigerian scam" and it's familiar to many people with e-mail accounts. It still exists and it still works. Spears first sent $100 through an untraceable wire service as directed by the scammers. Then, more multimillion dollar promises followed so long as she sent more money.

The scammers sent Spears official-looking documents and certificates from the Bank of Nigeria and the United Nations. President Bush and FBI Director Robert Mueller were also involved, the e-mails said, and needed her help. They sent official-looking documents and certificates from the Bank of Nigeria and even from the United Nations, saying her payment was "guaranteed."

But it wasn't and now Spears is paying the price for her costly lesson. "The hope is [other people] are not going to fall as hard as I fell," Spears said.

    ----------------------------------------

Yeah, that's not an easy mark at all.

Not to mention she pissed away her husband's entire retirement account. I'm sure the husband is taking it well.

  8. i was talking about guys that didnt do so well in t-37s going to corpus instead of t-38s or t-1s. there is a class ranking in phase 1-2 of pilot training too. there are of course guys in every airframe who break the mold, like the number one guy who goes to awacs.

Still a ridiculous quote. Granted T-44s weren't in the higher level of demand that they are now, but it still sounds like you're basing this opinion over what you saw in your own track select.

There a plenty of shitbags sent to every track. It all depends on what the people who did better are putting down first.

i have no problem supporting my country, but that doesnt disqualify me from thinking this way. do you think that deploying is cool or something? that fighting is an awesome thing? i just think deploying is not cool nor does it make people cool. it is just an unfortunate reality. i am not saying to avoid it, but in the c130 you will definately deploy more and you have to be ready to handle the consequences. because, although you are in the military, you are a person with a life outside as well. or at least you should be.

You're entitled to your opinion. But realize that other people don't share it.

  9. when c-17s were harder to get, we had our top guys get those and our absolute last guys (who didnt wash out) get hercs. i mean hooking checkrides, daily rides, epqs...last. no offense to any herc guys, but you know it was true.

Where are you getting this info from? The way you wrote your post sounds like you're only discussing drops from the T-1 track. You do realize that the majority of C-130 drops go to Corpus right? Using the random herk that drops to T-1s as the basis to form a generalized opinion about an entire community is just plain stupid.

    my opinion, deploying is stupid.

    Copy. It's all about you.

for lifestyle, i would say c-17>C-130. and remember in your choice...this is your life.

If you're going to spit that rhetoric out, then you need to consider that some people don't want to C-17 life. There are people in the world who (gasp) think differently than you do.

  10. We get instead nurses, flight attendants, cheerleaders, and the like...

Sounds like a standard C-17 crew.

logically you would think smaller plane, less people, instead smaller plane, less cargo, less altitude, less speed, 2x the man power, might as well put that shit on a train...

That's exactly what we think about when we're doing an ERO at the airfields you can't land at.

    HD

  11. As for the guys that make the snarky comments about the "pretty" displays that prevent you from looking outside (HD), I wonder if you ever look inside at anything...like airspeed, altitude, etc? Just because it's color and has lots of information doesn't mean you stare at it for hours reading it like a book. Same as any other instrument, but instead of giving you one parameter like the old legacy panels, it gives you just about anything you want/need. It was nice in the Lear to look down at the MFD on occasion and see weather, terrain and my route of flight all sitting right there in one quick picture. By the way, I think having a HUD alleviates most of the time spent looking inside the cockpit.
