Obviously you've never been a commander...or worked with the US Army. Not that I agree with all the PC kneejerk reactions, but go back and read this thread for example. Sometimes the actions are warranted, and the responsibility doesn't stop at the Wing King's desk. It trickles down to every officer and NCO in the unit. Were things different back in the "ol' days?" Yep. Better? Maybe. Worse. Could've been. Probably a mixture of both. The challenge is to find what works and do it, and what doesn't work and discard it. Or at least do the best you can at both. I think OPM has overall responsibility for clearances within the Federal government, and DIS does the legwork. At least that is my interpretation of the following statement I got from OPM's e-clearance web site: But concerning specific questions, I would refer someone first to their own security office, then their local DIS office... Oddly enough, before the Ospreys arrived, they did a demo of a team rappelling from a pair of MH-53s. Considering the limitation of not being able to rappel out the side doors due to the extreme downdraft of the propellers (as I have read, I do not have any firsthand knowledge of this), it makes you wonder if someone was trying to make a point! I used to wear one in college back in the mid-to-late 80's, and for a while when I was a Lt; but it's been a long time since. Here is who I had: Some of you might remember back in July 1991 Robertson, along with AF Major Albro Lundy and USN LT Larry Stevens, were the three MIA's "identified" in a photo that was reportedly "snuck" out of Vietnam... Turned out it was a doctored version of the photo at bottom, which appeared in a 1989 Khmer-language edition of the magazine Soviet Life. It is a photo of three Soviet farmers during the Stalin era celebrating a record harvest. I also got to have lunch with one of Robertson's daughters, Shelby Robertson-Quest, when Ross Perot testified before the Senate Select Committee on POW/MIA Affairs back in 1992. Anyhow, glad to see they are making a comeback...I might just dig mine out (I also have one in silver, also for Robertson). By the way, I know the USAF outlawed the yellow LiveStrong bracelets, but as far as I know these are still legal, right? Cheers! M2

Seriously, if it goes anywhere, I suspect it will be the Air Intelligence Agency, co-located here on Security Hill. The 67th Network Warfare Wing--which is an AIA unit--is a good hint that AIA could be that "Cyber Command." Also, prior to becoming AIA, it was a command (AFIC and ESC). Plus, look at their mission statement: and their "vision"... But, as I work for STRATCOM in the same building as AIA, I haven't heard any rumblings on it. Well, if BaseOps' story is true, and I have no reason to doubt him as I know he is a fine, upstarting individual, then she--and her comrades--have got to be the biggest ****ing idiot in the world walking around on the local economy dressed live Flavor Flav...and the screwed it up for everyone else who goes there. I know it is extremely hard to "blend in" at that location, but you can sure as hell do a lot not to attract additional attention to yourself! As for the running angle, we aren't the ones making the big deal out of it, it is her and all the press reporting on her that constantly remarks on it. Who really gives a shit? And what does it have to do with the price of tea in China? Now, if she has some sort of super-special SERE skills I could see mentioning it, but her running skills didn't do her much good! Cheers!
