  1. New Zeland Herald has a quick run down of Syria's possible reprisal options. Not much in the way of sources for the info quoted in the article, but still an interesting read.
  2. Actual Advice Mallard...is that you? Big thank you for this.
  3. Amazing job, big hats off to everyone involved in that rescue.

  5. If someone did notice... then what? Is the onus on them to say something? By letter of the law, no. But if you want to Monday Morning Quarterback it and say, "Why didn't anyone on the ground say anything!?" I think that's just a pretty reactionary response.
  6. Didn't expect the LA Times to bite off on what should be a non-factor (lack of GS guidance). I just wish they would more clearly delineate between what constitutes a challenging or even emergency situation and what is literally the building block of every pilots career, VFR flight. Source
  7. "Lieutenant, my superiors are villing to offer you the zum of half a million rubles vor information on ze Capitolist super weapon known as T-6. Vill you accept zis offer to make glorious ze Motherland?"
  8. A book about a 2d Lt fresh to pilot training? Chapter 1: "Ummmmmmmmmm," he said.
  9. I've heard that dudes showing up to KBAD from UPT are being told to pump their brakes and head on out to MC-12 training. I know some AD B-52 guys that have gotten picked up for the Liberty, but I was unaware they were doing this for recent UPT grads. Any truth to this?
  10. Oh man, just noticed the packs on his hat. Project Inspector Gadget was a stunning success.
  11. That's Gravedigger for you, asking the hard hitting badger questions everyone else is too scared to ask.
  12. At least we can cut pack mules out of the Defense budget with that new uniform.
  13. Worth the price of admission. Soundtrack and some of the shots are impressive, as well as the story line on Krypton. There are definitely a few expository lines that will make you roll your eyes though.
  14. Was shopping for a bunch of stuff at the BX yesterday and found out that through the 12th (or maybe 15th) of June if you sign up for their StarCard you get 20% off what you're buying that day. Saved just over $100 with the discount and a $20 gift card they throw in when your purchase is more than a certain amount. Little bit of paperwork to take care of and I really don't plan on using the thing anymore, but definitely worth the cash.
  15. The amount of hoops that you have to put yourself through before you even reach your 35 year cutoff is astronomical. To be honest man, the odds of you making it from square one in ROTC to a graduated UPT student who is in a position to start a family are far worse than you not finding a wife who would support most AF pilots' career paths. That is to say, you're focusing way too far down the road. Like others have said above, the military pilot lifestyle is full of sacrifices; if you want to be one, I suggest focusing on meeting that goal, then aligning the pieces to for your desired family life.
  16. That was genius and definitely tainted my view of what was otherwise a pretty movie. Catch up on (and laugh at) the last Fast and Furious movies here
