  1. #1 on my bucket list has been to drink an Arnold Palmer WITH Arnold Palmer.
  2. Nice, sounds like some awesome training. I was just hoping that getting all 69 aircraft off the ground wasn't the high point of the day. I've seen OREs get lots of aircraft off the ground...with no weapons onboard and little training accomplished once the aircraft launched. It doesn't look like that was the case here.
  3. Yeah, I read the article. Sure, it is cool to flex our muscles and do something awesome, but it just seemed like a big PR stunt by the Wing CC. I don't know the guy, I'm simply judging by the press release and a video I saw. Am I just jaded and have seen too many Wing CCs coming up with good ideas to put on their OPR w/ "largest," "best ever," and "first?"
  4. Serious question: Why?
  5. Almost anything, but mainly to work at my tobacco waterpipe store.
  6. I would hire him.
  7. Plus a free flight in an aircraft of his choosing at $5,000-20,000 per flight hour. What a deal!
  8. https://www.danclarkspeak.com/about/index.php This guy? He did not speak to the SOS class in Oct. Unless I completely slept through 2 hrs of class, entirely possible. Lots of questionable claims on his webpage.
  9. Wow. Unbelievable. I feel sorry for the citizens of Arizona if she wins. I am not confident that the citizens can see through her act.
  10. Are there any hot, female cadets in your Detachment? If so, provide pics and I am sure someone on this board will set you up with something. Best of luck.
  11. RUMINT said there were 15+ failures of the PFT when class started (even without a tape)...true?
  12. Achilles tendinitis? Sounds like it is too high in the leg, but it might be. I've had this condition and it sucks. Only solution is to stop running for awhile. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhealth/PMH0002067/
  13. Wait, I thought we already decided on our motto that no one uses? Aim high...Fly, Fight, Win? What does it say about an organization that takes 2+ years to come up with a motto?
  14. Paying a MSgt to play drums in the AF?
  15. What is a "personal body alarm?" A whistle?
  16. Look at the slideshow. He titled it "Ronnie's Rules" and presented it at an introductory commander's call. He could have easily titled it "What I Believe" and we are not having this discussion. I think the General was pretty naive to think this was appropriate for an introductory CC call.
  17. From the Air Force Association this morning:
  18. We are almost 5.5 years behind the U.S. Army in implementing this. Common sense prevailing indeed. https://www.military.com/spouse/fs/0,,fs_married-soldiers,00.html?ESRC=family.nl
  19. Don't waste your money on this kit. It is virtually worthless. It doesn't have many of the things that even a newbie will need to brew beer. No thermometer, hydrometer, etc. There are decent kits for $100-$150 that include a 5 gallon glass carboy, thermometer, hydrometer, stoppers, hoses, funnels, etc. It just won't be fun making beer with this kit, plus you'll only have 2 gallons with the container that is provided. Try something like this: https://www.amazon.com/Complete-Equipment-Gallon-Glass-Carboy/dp/B002BU7CVM/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1324994958&sr=8-4
  20. I was in the last five week class in Sep/Oct. The staff was working on the new 8-week curriculum when we were there. Their pitch was that they were combining the "best" of ASBC to the new 8-week curriculum. From what I gathered, there won't be a lot of changes. It sounded pretty much the same as what it is now, but stretched to 8-weeks. You can expect 6-7 hr days, a couple of papers, a presentation, and plenty of time to golf. There was RUMINT that they were adding a test and daily quizzes (the 5-week course had zero tests). In short, the 5-week class was one of the least challenging things I have done in the Air Force.
  21. To be fair, the walk from the Q to the RF-Alaska building is pretty dangerous. You cross, what, 2 active streets? One of which is lightly trafficked? UFB.
  22. Just curious, do guys that drop AC-130s go right to Hurby, or do they have to go through Little Rock? Cheers, - Striper
  23. First, XXXX that guy. Second, the U.S. is well within its rights to go after a U.S. citizen. There are tons of precedents. U.S. citizens fought for Germany in WWII and certainly in the Civil War the North was fighting against U.S. citizens in the South. We killed them then, we can do it now. Third, read this article in Slate about the killing of Al Alwaki: https://www.slate.com...process_wo.html Cheers, - Striper
  24. For those of us in the ASOS world, the new AFI prohibits anyone in the Air Force from wearing any Army badges on their ABUs. So if you've earned the right to wear a Pathfinder badge, Air Assault, Ranger Tab, or an Army Combat Action Badge, you can't wear it in ABUs. Wing and Group leadership is on the bandwagon to enforce this. UFB.
