I think they TOTALLY get it (Suicides)
The MORAL LAW causes the people to be in complete accord with their ruler, so that they will follow him regardless of their lives, undismayed by any danger. ... The COMMANDER stands for the virtues of wisdom, sincerity, benevolence, courage and strictness. ... The consummate leader cultivates the moral law, and strictly adheres to method and discipline; thus it is in his power to control success. ... Regard your soldiers as your children, and they will follow you into the deepest valleys; look upon them as your own beloved sons, and they will stand by you even unto death. Sun Tzu

Interesting. The cynic in me wonders if these two "whistleblowers" were put up to the task by the man...

Non Continuation for passed over Majs
The Navy only offered the 15 year retirement option to the ERB (Enlisted Review Board) guys. They're not offering it to officers at this time. https://navylive.dodlive.mil/2012/01/23/navy-offers-early-retirement-program/

Non Continuation for passed over Majs
There is a reduction penalty from the "50% base pay" for retiring short of 20 years.

Drone Pilots: We Don’t Get No Respect
I guess you could call HFP "combat pay" -- if you actually wound up under hostile fire, as it is activity-based.

Electronic flight bags could boost operational safety, effectiveness
Hopefully it is Through DVDs instead of the Internet, since the NGA has a shitty download cap of 500k.

Electronic flight bags could boost operational safety, effectiveness
Can you pass on to the NGA people that if there were any way to reduce the download from ~3.0gb per cycle to something manageable like the Jepp app (~150mb a cycle)? Suggestion: the updates only replace the changed charts as opposed to every chart.

Who's Really Flying The Plane?
30' AGL with power at idle and max AoA...not any normal airliner mode I am aware of...in fact, the pilot pitched up so much that the flight computers commanded nose down from the elevators to prevent a stall. There is much discussion about this accident, to include whether the pilot was reading 30' RA and thinking 30m RA. Also, the only people who really know what happened edited the tapes before turning them over to the investigators.

Booze Talk
Get rid of ice cubes. Learn to dribble just a little water in. The cold of the ice cube is not very good for the flavors. All you need to know: "neat with a water back."

Who's Really Flying The Plane?
Rather piss poor example, as the pilots were in a regime for which the aircraft was not designed.

Masters information (MBA/GRE)
Hell, with the free 15 credits from Brandman...I'd recommend just signing up with them to complete whatever minimum requirements get you the credits so you can update to a Bac+ with no work. Then I would worry about doing some sort of degree. I think UVA offers an online education degree that is supposed to be pretty good.

The Mother of all CGOCs
There was a guy a few years back at a certain 3-hole tanker "forward" location (and I use that term with all the sarcasm I can muster) who did something similar. The whole lot of CGOs received an email requesting that people take the time to help the CGOC deliver Christmas packages to every door in the trailers. This fine upstanding young aviator was angered by the email and wrote back "I do not have time for your emails or your projects, please remove me from your mailing list." As you can imagine, the Lt president of the CGOC who sent out the email was quite butt-hurt and cried to the Wg/CC. Within a few hours, this aviator found himself yanked out of crew rest to stand before the Wg/CC and explain why he thought the CGOC was a waste of time. It is always good to see when we have our REMF priorities straight...

The Mother of all CGOCs
All I have seen out of the CGOC on my base is a string of emails about "senior" leaders giving talks about how to get promoted.
