  1. That's only because more and more Americans have no clue what is actually going on. They blindly follow what CNN, MSNBC, FOX, etc tells them. Not saying Fox is saying same thing as CNN, etc, just that people follow their BS just the same. Show hard facts where continuing to drive the tax rates up ever solved the problem. If it creates more revenue the govt just finds more uses for it. People may blame the GOP, but it isn't their fault. They are equally as inept as the Dems.
  2. Man, you guys got me. I'm gonna tuck my tail and hide now. Two Internet tough guys have ganged up again... Important lesson for everyone, never go against these pillars of BO.net. Pretty sad that even the guys you agree with most of the time do their best to piss everyone and anyone off.
  3. Talk about high horse. Relax just a little. My point is if Rainman is going to jump in and say stuff, why not back it up. No one's asking for a term paper. Maybe I should have been more clear. BO.net is definitely not my only source of info, but I bounce it off a lot of other things, and often use the topics in here as starting points for the research I do. The level of Internet courage in here never ceases to amaze. Your post is a perfect example, but of course your Internet courage will bolster you to say something stupid like, "I'd say that to your face". If that's true I feel sorry for the immense lack of tact and courtesy you subject the world to everyday. Another reason our society is steadily going downhill, everyone who thinks they are slightly in the "right" is, as you say, on some ridiculous high horse that they believe enables them to act however they want.
  4. You guys that are all defending Rainman, I don't get it. I actually agree with his points, and I think Joe is an uber liberal. Problem is, I'm not smart enough in this subject matter to destroy his points other than to say things like, "That just doesn't make sense." Why can't Rainman back it up? For goodness' sake, don't do it to prove Joe wrong, do it to educate those of us on your side of the argument. He does come off as a major prick more often than not, even if he is right. I agree with him more often than not, but that doesn't make him infallible. All of you defending him just because he is "legit" make no sense. He's a big boy, I'm sure he doesn't need the "bro" network to back him up. If he feels it necessary, he'll do it. For people like me, a 60 hour/week job, family, TDY's every two weeks, and other commitments, post up the reasons you're right. Right or wrong, I come here for a lot of information on subjects like these. I take nothing at face value until I can see it backed up with logic and reason.
  5. I'll throw a plug for this in too. A lot of good people in this. They borrowed some footage from the gunner who created the video with footage from the probe a few years back. EDIT for grammar.
  6. I don't care how it's spelled, the guy trying to block nudity is named Weiner...

    A-10 Watch

Some Rescue guys are doing one through Christopher Ward of London. Much cheaper and cooler looking in my opinion. Different levels of quality though. . They're engraving our green feet in the back as we'll as a numbered series. I'm not running the order, but I could find the guy in charge if you A-10 bubbas want a cheaper version. $500 give or take a bit. Any Rescue bubbas interested let me know. I think we're short a couple watches as well.
  9. Chaff, chaff... Still no answer. Do you get the reference to chaff? It's a military thing, specifically with aircraft that fly in the Air Force. We use it to try and dodge crap. I'm dumbing it down a little, but you get the idea...
  10. Yeah, you're right. Lets pretend that we'll never need that capability again and plan for the easiest route. The Army has helos that can do it, and they love stopping their operations to go pick up some downed Airman... Can you honestly say that with our potential threats out there I'm basing this on Afghanistan? Quite a big assumption on your part. We have AR for no FOB's in between. V-22 defensive caps don't come close to even the min caps of our Pavehawk. Once again, benign is the only situation for a V-22.
  11. C'mon, you can't ignore the call outs and still post like nothing's happened. You demanded to know about Rainman, you got it. Fess up.
  12. You still haven't posted a reason why anyone should listen to you. Care to give that one a try?
  13. It's one of the same reasons the Chinook winning bid was challenged. Is a heavy lift helo, not a medium lift. Maybe they'll change the wording this time around. It's awfully big. Maybe there are some old Pavelow guys that could better speak to this being good/bad for it.
  14. Other than a benign situation that is real far away, what is the V-22 a great choice for? I was in ABQ when the fV-22 got its first "rescue". You know what it did? Fly really fast to the general area and orbit because it couldn't land over 8,000'. In the meantime, albeit much slower, a Pavehawk that was stripped of unnecessary equipment landed at 11,000' to infil the J's and recover the unfortunate crash victims. There's not enough equipment to strip on a V-22 to make landing at 11,000' feasible. I will agree with you loosely that it could be a great choice in very specific situations, but (and I'm pulling this number out of my arse) 85% of the time it's a horrible choice. It would be a great FOB to FOB medevac option because of the speed, but sorry, I'm not buying it for anything else. The HH-47 was a bad choice because of its size, but it's about 10x better than the V-22. Just my $.02. I don't expect anyone to agree with it, but please explain why and for what it would make a great choice. Not picking a fight, and I apologize if I came off that way. That wasn't my intention.
  15. I hope this embeds. My dad sent this to me from an airline buddy of his. Pretty funny, and even as a helo pilot (some can be known to be arrogant, but not me...) I can see a lot of truth in there unfortunately. Funny stuff though. http://www.xtranormal.com/watch/13404616/meet-the-new-fo Edit: embed didn't work. Tapatalk sucks...
  16. Please no! Speaking from experience with Eurocopter's military helicopters, if their contracts are anything like what Europeans or Australians get, that's a nightmare we don't want to engage in. I know it won't exactly be Eurocopter, but it won't exactly not be either. They are ridiculous with the rights they demand to retain in order to keep a "warranty". Please no! Gun Talk

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QAcYErAoVP0 I can't wait to pick up this Kel-Tec KSG. It appears to be the ultimate zombie killer. I'll happily pay the premium on this thing if it's as good as it appears. The video is kinda funny though. These guys are "special ops" prison guards...
  20. Still a dbag. Respect his accomplishments, but not the a-hat he's become, or in all likelihood always was.
  21. More than likely the guards knew they were idiots, and hoped they'd eventually go away. Once they knocked, it was at a "point of no return" where they couldn't just ignore them anymore.

    Gun Talk

Does it seem like a quality gun to you or gimmicky? I've read some mixed reviews on it. Did it jam on you when shooting it? Operation straight forward? It's a lot more expensive than a Mossberg, so I don't want to be a beta tester. If it seemed like a finished as opposed to a rushed product would be good to know.
