Apply to universities? Yes, you do it the same way everyone else does. You do not apply for ROTC. When you select your courses for your first semester, you will either tell your counselor you are doing the program or just select the AS100 classes if you do it on your own. It is not necessary for you to get in touch with the admissions officer. They will see you listed and mail you a packet containing their own instructions and a medical sheet that needs to be filled out like a sports physical.

It can play a crucial role in your commander's ranking. I would not discount the importance of maintaining a high GPA just because it is not as heavily weighted for the pilot selection process. They do not understand that the people targeted by pilots and drones do far worse things to innocent people, way more often. Your GPA at the university you transfer to will be higher, but as Kjack said, ROTC computes your GPA based on all of the classes you have taken. It is separate from your institutional GPA.

You misunderstand me. I do not idolize her, nor do I praise her. Nothing to do with admiration, just straight respect for the progress she made after the attack. It is not my place to judge her for her irresponsibility, but she went from a victim of inaction to taking a stand for herself. I am not going to judge her for doing something stupid. A lot of teenagers do. This should have never happened to her. It was not right of her to go to a party and drink underage, but it is not like this does not happen amongst teenagers all over. Even so, no one cut her off after she started to exhibit drunk symptoms, no one had the presence of mind to stay sober to take people home if need be, and ultimately no one had her back and protected her. The two offenders also shared pictures of the assault. They outed themselves initially. She knew she was breaking the law releasing the names, but this attack occurred in August of 2011 and does not sound like it has brought her justice. I do not know what she hoped to accomplish by naming the attackers, but I respect her progress from being a terrorized victim to taking an effort to stand up where the courts seem to have hit the brakes. Maybe my feelings on the situation are not right, but they run parallel to hers.

I would assume sanity stops me from being the shooter in the theater. What kind of question is that? And to follow it up with disregarding anyone who says they would not do it is ridiculous as well. Am I misunderstanding something? In regards to the last question, no it is not a merry-go-round. If you take a shot to kill the shooter, you are acting in self-defense and not cold-blooded murder.

My comment is about how it is not an issue of masculinity. Anyone can have the capacity for courage, or aggression in the case of "fight." It also depends on the situation and people's values. I would not deride someone's reaction to flee because they may have a lot to lose. They may be protecting someone or have dependents that need them. My position comes from having less to lose and has very little to do with masculinity. I think he does: "It just felt like the worst thing ever because my son's still in there," he told ABC News. "My girlfriend is still in there. I'm out here. Who leaves their child there?"
