Nsplayr With the U-28s going to Cannon. Is Active Duty taking over maintenance from Sierra Nevada like at Duke with the C-145?
  2. Thanks for all the help. I told her to look for the Base Auto Hobby shop before she left.
  3. My Daughter just PCS to Ramstein. Now that I wont be able to help her out with a car. Does anyone know of a decent place she can get hers worked on?
  4. She looks better now. In the movie "Wanted" She looked like a POW. Sunken eyes. Rib cage showing.
  5. Saw her tonight on TV. Looks like a nice upgrade.
  6. Didn’t King 56 have parachutes but no survival gear? That’s why they decided to ditch in the ocean. When they could have bailed out?
  7. You didnt mention what type of aircraft you fly. But is an incentive ride possible? Airman nowadays get too much praise from leadership. And time off, food and booze I can get myself. I can mark my life by the day I got my T-38 incentive ride at Holloman.
  8. Is this a complete list of bases affected? An old coworker told me the 103rd at Gramby is losing their C-21s and getting 130s.

Squadron parking lot? Is the on base Fam Camp / RV park full?
  10. We cant combine services. Active Duty says it would be too hard. The U.S. Air Force will work to standardize the pay systems of the active duty, Air National Guard and Reserve forces, but it does not plan to pursue a proposal to merge the Guard and Reserve, the service's chief of staff said. The retired generals who propose the merger say it could save billions of dollars and improve U.S. security, but current service leaders say it's too big an undertaking just now, particularly as the service prepares for recapitalization and budget uncertainty. http://www.defensenews.com/article/20110828/DEFSECT01/108280301/USAF-Nixes-Guard-Reserve-Merger-Proposal
  11. " Like you, I also am a follower of the Dave Ramsey approach " I would just like to add. Back in 2007 Peter Schiff saved me about 75K of my TSP balance. When everyone including Dave Ramsey were saying we were not heading for trouble. Peter Schiff was the only one saying we were heading for a cliff. I knew we were in trouble when all of my ART brothers i worked with were buying 300K houses using zero interest loans. After hearing him. Just enforced what I knew already. Moved all my TSP money to the G-Fund.
  12. The committee adopted language that would establish a National Commission on the Structure of the Air Force. The committee was unhappy with the lack of analysis and justification for the Air Force’s proposals letting force structure reductions fall more heavily on the Air National Guard. The Commission would consist of eight members, four appointed by the President (one of whom would be the Chairman of the Reserve Forces Policy Board) and four appointed by leadership of the Committees on Armed Services of the Senate and the House of Representatives. The Commission would be required to report to the Congress by March 31, 2013, in time to inform congressional action on the fiscal year 2014 budget request. http://armed-services.senate.gov/press/SASC.NDAA.052412.pdf
  13. Looks like there will be no changes to the cuts. http://arkansasnews.com/2012/03/28/pentagon-sticking-with-air-guard-cuts-for-now/
  14. Heres the video of the 21Mar Senate Armed Services Committee Hearing. http://www.senate.gov/fplayers/jw57/urlMP4Player.cfm?fn=armed032012&st=1490&dur=12670
  15. Well, we know the names. http://militarytimes.com/static/projects/pages/aircraft-losses.pdf Here we go with the numbers. http://www.airforcetimes.com/news/2012/03/gannett-air-force-proposes-cutting-997-jobs-at-niagra-falls-030612/ http://www.airforcetimes.com/news/2012/03/ap-air-force-plans-reduce-pennsylvania-positions-25-percent-030612/
  16. Same in the Reserve. Except we cancel UTA's because of the lack of funds.
  17. Air Force Secretary Michael Donley said the service plans to send proposals to Capitol Hill that would cause the Reserve and Guard components to take measures similar to those used in the active-duty force over the past few years. The breakdown for fiscal 2013 totals 5,100 guardsmen and 900 reservists, Donley said. http://www.airforcetimes.com/news/2012/02/air-force-michael-donley-guard-reserve-source-most-cuts-020212w/
  18. Doesnt Beale have a large Reserve unit working on the soon to be cancelled Global Hawk?
  19. With the cancellation of the C-130 AMP program. We are looking at losing some of the Reserve and Guard aircraft. Another question I had is one day we wont need all of the Predator aircraft. That is a lot of Reserve and Guard jobs. The next DOD budget briefing is on the 26th.
  20. Thats a great video. I didnt realize that the HH-60Us at the Nevada Test Range would be doing Combat Search And Rescue Missions. Nice
  21. Sorry about that. I didnt think that the name of the company who maintains the aircraft would be classified.
  22. Two: these aircraft will be going to do Nellis range support to free up the aircraft there to the CAF and do not necessarily need the AR boom or CSAR gizmos Did some searchning and didnt find anything. Are these -60s used for the Nevada test range contractor supported? Or Federal Employees?
  23. Cosolidating the Air Guard and Reserve is also a good idea. But we need to fix the pay system first. http://www.defensenews.com/story.php?i=7500382
  24. There was also this. http://www.afrc.af.m...sp?id=123278523 The Air Force plans to establish four new jet fighter units to create efficient and effective combat capability in tight budgetary times, according to an announcement Nov. 3. In order to capitalize on the most efficient mix of full and part-time positions, the Air Force Reserve will reduce some of its slots whose duties will be filled by the Airmen in the new active-duty units.
