ADS-B in Military Aircraft
Watching my Foreflight ADS-B picture of the departures out of OSH when I was departing Appleton on Sunday was....eyeopening and scary. I'm glad I had something that gave me some SA on the VFR traffic that was leaving the event. It was an asset.

Oshkosh 2015
Thread bump. Has anyone done the Appleton deal? My group rented out some space in a house by the field, so we decided to try the less congested option getting in there since we have a place to crash.

F-16 & Cessna mid-air over SC
Try the AOPA Members page. I guess it's not the official AOPA page. I'd post the link, but I'm already 3 deep at a Mexican cantina in Alabama and am sucking at Al Gore's internet right now.

F-16 & Cessna mid-air over SC
If anyone is on the AOPA Facebook page, there is a hate fest going on about military pilots. It's entertaining, but there is a very sad level of knowledge on military special use airspace among many of the posters there.

Track Selects and Assignment Nights
Maybe at your base, but that incident was the driving factor AETC-wide and the only reason at END.

Track Selects and Assignment Nights

Oshkosh 2015
I'll be there all week with the kiddo. Catching a ride in my old man's Bonanza up there. Should be a fun week.

Gen Welsh - USAF Chief of Staff
I'm not necessarily going for a pile on here, but whether you like it or not, support types have a stigma. At my base, when I roll in at 0600-0630, the MSG, Med Group and other support units have completely empty parking lots. When I leave at 1800-1830, those parking lots are also empty. Our Finance shop closes up at 1630, regardless if you are waiting in line or not. We have no flight docs on duty after 1630 usually. We asked if a doc would come in if we had a in flight physi after 1630, and were told to basically pound sand. I'm not accusing you of being one of those 'types' and the fact that you visit this forum makes me think you aren't. But there are more bad examples than good ones these days, at least in my world. The primary mission of my base is flying training. Yet, the support squadrons are far better manned than the ops squadrons right now, but there seems to be zero desire in the support units to help us either accomplish the primary mission of our wing or assist those that do. I wound venture to guess my example isn't unique or special, either.

I think your numbers for UPT graduates is off. We do 400ish per year just at END.

Looking for noise complaint letter
I've read a lot of Mike Rowe's stuff recently, and he seems like an all around good guy. Has anyone met him in person and can verify this?

Promotion and PRF Information
Those of you that received their DQHB or equivalent recently: what MAJCOM/base do you belong to? My MPF has been months late with the RRF and O-6 boards (leaving us with 3-5 days to produce the products), so I'm just wondering if it's a MAJCOM issue or wing issue.

With Russia's $650 billion rearmament plan, the bear sharpens its teeth
Does anyone understand the Russian obsession with aerobatic demonstration teams? Everyone and a while you'll read about them standing up another team.

12 FTW/CV loses job over 'inappropriate' emails
Wow. He was new to RND when I was at PIT. He was incredibly cool when I exercised the SA of a puppy crossing a highway and erased his briefing board, and used it as reason to mentor an Lt over a beer instead of crushing me. Which one of the 'good ones' is next?
