Someone smarter than I once told me that generals don't like saying "no" to things, as they will look like they are responsible for the failure if it was the wrong decision. Instead of owning up to their decisions, they just "ask for more information" repeatedly until either the staff surrenders, it dies, or they move on to a different job and it's someone else's decision to make. Not sure if that's the case, but it sure makes a lot of strange behavior make sense.

UPT Select!

I'll take a stab and guess that there aren't enough IPs or infrastructure to push all of the pilot trainees they want through. *sigh* Blue tries to to put it out the (pilot shortage) fire by dousing it with water and realizes too late it's gasoline.

Well on the current hiring announcement they want officers that commissioned after 2015. So not sure how competitive a Lieutenant board can be.

Yeah Columbus is the worst right now. I'm at Vance as a Weather Officer and it's not tooooo horrible here, but I just hear how Columbus is the furthest backed up in every meeting I'm in about the subject.

Some gouge for those selected, I was picked up on last years board for UPT and am sitting at Columbus still waiting to start. All the bases are backed up, so expect to chill on casual for a few months.
