  1. Let alone the time when technology will replace the need for navigators... ...oh wait...
  2. "The charge in Virginia pertaining to a fictitious military ID, in Cruze's case, carries a fine of up to $100,000 and/or two to 10 years in prison. That's a lot more than the $399 in traffic ticket fines he paid in Las Vegas for illegally driving with Purple Heart plates." This is why I love being from VA! I'm from the area, and with the amount of military personnel (active, reserve, ret.) in the area, the Loudoun County Sheriff's office doesn't take these incidents lightly (especially since many of them are veterans themselves).

Douche of the year. Who actually read online SOS shit that was not gouge?
  4. It may not be our generation, but if people grow up with automation, they will accept it. The folks on here saying "it ain't gonna happen, human beings can't fly, boy" will be long dead by then, we probably will too. But there is no reason to train human beings if you can manufacture all the aviators on the planet for 1/10^10 of the cost. Its science.

pcola, you beat me to it. Erilejr, if you take anything away from this thread, this should be it. They make the rules and they are free to change them at any time and for any reason. They seriously couldn't care less about you and your retirement or whatever regs or contracts you wave at them. The flying may or may not do it for you, it depends on what you want and what you end up with. Air Force life often leaves much to be desired. Ironically, however, the Air Force flying community is populated with some of the best bros you will ever meet, I've never quite been able to figure out why, but it's true. I'd have to say that this part alone might actually make up for the rest of the BS. Whatever you decide, do right by your bros and they'll do right by you, the rest will work itself out. As one person I know likes to put it, just stick to the laws of "dudesmanship." Best of luck.

  8. douche (doosh) n. Someone who gives a shit about the difference between balogna and baloney.
  9. Hmm... So a retired USAF general speaking for a competitor (i.e., winner by default) in a lucrative government contract (within 13 months of retiring)? Nothing to see here.
