  1. Side note - some MC-130P bubbas recently put together a pretty sweet order from Breitling (Airwolf watch). Latest word is that they're (finally) out of the oven and enroute to their new owners. Once I put eyes-on, I'll pass words about how they look... meanwhile, here's a quick artist's rendition from the paperwork (attached): Regards, Linda

  2. I got lit up by him, in front of everyone, in Q&A after the "General's Perspective" OTS class. I realized soon enough that I deserved it (my question implied that OTS had little to no applicability to a flying career), and during the course of the ass-chewing he even made a point of how the leadership/mentorship side really could apply to me (pilot-crew chief relations or some such), so in all he handled my brave-but-stupid behavior very fairly. to MG Flowers for most of a lifetime of service.

  3. You won't hear anything from me. I think the USAF needs to take a good hard look at itself and really see if Physical fitness is the drop dead drag out fight that it really wants to make it. Ironically, most folks I know in the AF, if in an actual knock down drag out fight...would get crushed. But that is besides the point. Meet a basic standard in BMTS to get in the door, Let AFSCs set their own standards, and test each other with a test that is appropriate to their job, and let the CC (my vote would be Wg/CC, not sq), simply have the authority to say, "Hey, you look like shit, get to not looking like shit like yesterday, or I will crush you". Maybe ruck marches for cops, box of copier paper carry for MPF, case of beer carry for co-pilots, you know let it make sense. Won't ever happen.

  4. Easy answer. 1. More t-38's guys will get fighters in a kneeejerk reaction to the numbers. 2. Fighter FTU's will not be ready to handle the extra people.....Students will enter an extended BIT status awaiting IFF/FTU. 3. More IFF slots will be needed, proposal to open up sq's at Laughlin/Vance for IFF leads to 1-star OPR bullets. 5. After 3 years of flailing, the numbers will start to match what this document wanted, but the AF will have changed due to budgets/requiements. 6. 4-star sends memo stating overproduction of fighter pilots, FTU sq's closed, IFF shut down. 7. T-38 guys sent to heavies. 8. clusterf-ck continues each 3-5 years due to lack of foresight and leadership.
