The Packet (C-82) was a WW2 design. In the late 40's it was re-vamped with more powerful engines, made a little larger and showed up as the C-119 Flying Boxcar in time to serve in the Korean war.

It was later retrofitted with 4x7.62 mm miniguns to make it the AC-119G which served in Vietnam. The AC-119K added 2x20mm cannons to supplement the miniguns (called the 'Stinger').

Pretty cool... like I said, one of my fav's.
