Big picture, what are the physical differences between these two? I understand that the HC-130P and MC-130P both do helicopter refueling, but are the only major differences between the actual aircraft the MC's AR (receiver) capability?

Other questions:

-Any big differences in countermeasures?

-Does the MC-P do CSAR at all?

-What about infil/exfil?

-Can any HC guys give me an idea of what to expect in the ops world (I'm headed to the 79th)?

-Finally, what are the big differences in the syllabi for each aircraft Kirtland?

I know, lots of questions so thanks for any help - I was search function complete prior to posting.

haha, OK. Nuff said. If anyone has any Disney Channel answers they can give to those questions, I'll take 'em. If no, then I'll figure it out when I get there.

Where are your troops and may I count them?
What's your name...Muhammad? Well, Muhammad, you look like a pretty nice guy. Our troops are right over there. Here are some NVG's and, if you promise to keep the safety on, I'll let you use this high-powered sniper rifle. You can't beat the view from the scope.

Here's my ID card. If you don't mind, come by my office and drop off the equipment sometime tomorrow afternoon…or, you know, whenever you get the chance. Good luck!

That is racial profiling. Just because his name is Muhammad doesn't mean he knows how to shoot the rifle. :D

Come back, post!

Rocker,

If you've got a ".mil" e-mail, PM me with it and I'll reply from my work address.

Two different worlds.

Administrative ownership - HCs and MCs = AFSOC.

Operational ownership - HCs = Big Blue

- MCs = SOCOM

Very different missions and cultures. HCs are 100% dedicated to CSAR. MCs are not. "That's all I have to say about that" (using my best Forrest Gump impression).

Search on here, someone posted a good mini-history of the MC in recent years on here a while back.

Thanks for the information guys.

rocker - simple answer now. MC/HC = not gonna get it out of UPT anymore.

Why do you say that? They drop all the time.

rocker - simple answer now. MC/HC = not gonna get it out of UPT anymore.
That's funny, I got my drop a few weeks ago and there was an MC and three HCs in it. Rocker also happens to be headed to the HC. In the last drop there were two HCs. Simple response now. Don't know what you're talking about = STFU.

Technique only-you STFU, 2Lt.

You know I did exaggerate a bit....HARDLY going to ever get it out of UPT is more like it..HCs maybe....MCs/ACs....not much any more. So tell me Einstein, do you know about the AFSOC traning conference where they found experience was a causal factor in the crashes? Where they decided they would severly limit UPT AFSOC slots?

Do you work at AFSOC? Do you know about all the changes coming down the pipe? Hmm. No you are a UPT student. So you get back to your books and shut the f__k up.....maybe you need to think about who is talking before you open your mouth. I bet they love you at UPT. It's guys like you that make our IP jobs a nightmare.

dtfl,

I'm not saying that I know anything at all about AFSOC or you. I'm sure that you have alot more experience then me and believe it or not I really did not mean any disrespect. I know from your other posts that you're an AFSOC guy with a lot of time under your belt. I was just responding to your post that said that we will not be getting AFSOC out of UPT anymore and I'm just saying that it is still coming down in drops. Whatever plans AFSOC has in the future I have no idea and never will. I'm not trying to get in any kind of flame war here. I was just trying to correct an error that I saw so other kids reading this wouldn't get the wrong idea. I guess after re-reading my post, I didn't use much tact so I appoligize if I pissed you off.

Technique Only,

Don't worry about dtfl's comments. He has a hair across his @$$ and is taking it out on you. He has good info, just not very articulate about presenting his ideas.

No worries. I was just trying to clear up any confusion.

When you go to Kirtland you will find out, but overall, they are pretty much the same. The main difference is who is on the hose getting gas.

i'm a captain and you WILL respect my authority!...i've earned it! it was tough beating out those 4 guys this year that didn't make it. ok ok, i'm only a 2lt, but still...come on.

Dude, chill out. You said they weren't going to drop 'any more', he said they just did. He wasn't calling you out, just stating a fact - simple semantics error.

Get yourself all spun up like that and you come off as a huge prick.

Torro,

When you're right, you're right!
