Herk Driver Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 Can anybody verify that all leave, including terminal, needs Commander approval? Nsplayr already got the terminal part...ordinary leave can be approved by supervisors. Posted from the NEW Baseops.net App!

Fozzy Bear Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 Is there any news or ideas as to a real timeline from the AF leadership, regarding approvals/denials? Posted from the NEW Baseops.net App!
Lumbergh Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 (edited) And another deadline comes and goes Posted from the NEW Baseops.net App! Was there a deadline that was supposed to happen today? I had heard "mid May" or May 15th as one. I fully expect to be disappointed in 3 more days. I just want to make sure there's not a reason to be disappointed now. You have to spread it out a little bit. Edited May 12, 2014 by Lumbergh
Checks Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 Yea, I called TFSC again today and the theme I keep hearing is "mid-May." I also went through the PSDM trying to find a deadline, but couldn't find anything solid. FML. Posted from the NEW Baseops.net App!

Mish_Hacker Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 I couldn't find that, not sure if someone has that reference. Posted from the NEW Baseops.net App! The mypers website says notifications will occur by"approximately ten days after the window closes." Nothing beats an "approximate" deadline. They probably meant 10 business days... Vspapplicant Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 I understand it's a volunteer program, but am I wrong in expecting some sort of resolution and better communication? What happened to transparency? Most of us waiting have been in this posture of uncertainty for nearly four months!
Emer Msn Updated Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 Going on about 100 days here. I'd like to see this fly in a for-profit company...
tunes Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 was there something in the PSDM that said if you apply for a voluntary program and are denied you are ineligible an involuntary program? Or was that just from a Q&A and nothing official?
chim richalds Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 SECAF said that during a q&a. It only seems logical to not make guys write rrfs who applied for vsp and got denied, therefore they will have to do it.
MooseAg03 Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 I've got to say, I've tried to be patient through the 2+ month delay from when we first should have gotten a response, but this day to day waiting is driving me crazy. I hope I'm not the only one constantly checking DOS in every possible location on vMPF, AMS, PRDA and wherever else it's listed. Give us an answer already!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1

That would mean that FY14 and FY15 VSP would be occurring simultaneously. What could go wrong? Also, to the best of my knowledge, you can only have one separation app in the system at a time be it VSP, PC, etc. I seriously hope that notifications do not extend into the FY15 window, which opens 22 May. What a disaster. Edited May 13, 2014 by Lumbergh
tunes Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 Also, Sq/CC got clarification on being eligible for involuntary programs after applying for voluntary. If your VSP application required ANY ADSC waiver then the stipulation doesn't apply and you are eligible for the RIF and require a RRF. What a disaster. I'm really hoping that we know by the end of the week...but based on their performance thus far i'm not counting on it. Logic would tell you that there needs to be results for FY14 VSP before the FY15 VSP window opens. 1

If you like your healthcare plan, you can keep your healthcare plan. If you apply for a voluntary program and are denied, you will not be RIFd. Period." Hopefully, your SQ/CC talked to someone at AFPC that is not the person in charge of setting FY14 Force Management deadlines. Or maybe hopefully they did, and their info is as good as an AFPC deadline. Lots of fun questions for Commander's Calls now... 1

FUSEPLUG Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 Anyone listen to the afpc webinar? Said vsp were starting to be processed again today and notifications to go out this week and over the next few months...... Next few months.... Assuming I get VSP approved in a "few months," that will make my last bit of Active Duty service a real shit-show. I guarantee my usefulness to the squadron will be about nil as I try to get my civilian life in order. The longer they kick this can down the road, the harder it is going to be for my squadron-mates to pick up the ball that is going to be dropped when I (and my fellow VSP'ers) prepare to depart the fix. 2

I'm getting stuff together for terminal in July and am already as worthless as tits on a bull. 1 1
