Herk Driver Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 sooo, they're going to finalize RIF matrices next week, before they're done processing VSP and TERA applications? I see learning has NOT occured in the last 4-5 months.finalize in this case equals Version 1 Posted from the NEW Baseops.net App!
xaarman Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Do they have updated numbers anywhere, or just the blue/red box matrix?
FBomb Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Do they have updated numbers anywhere, or just the blue/red box matrix? Nothing is updated. The red/blue matrix is the one they released on the 17th of last week (you know, the one they released too late to let folks know they weren't eligible anymore for the new TERA window that opened on the 15th).
Mish_Hacker Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 Officer and enlisted voluntary separation pay AFPC has received more than 1,200 officer and 6,800 enlisted applications. Even though the VSP window does not close until May 1, more than 340 officer and approximately 2,400 enlisted VSP applications have been approved as of Apr. 18. AFPC will continue to process applications in all eligible AFSCs, enlisted grades and officer year groups. "AFPC will continue to process applications in all some* eligible AFSCs, enlisted grades and officer year groups." * Applications with ADSCs requiring waivers will be processed if they were on the original waiver list. Those ADSCs added to the updated list require more time to process because [something]. Unless your application with that ADSC has already been approved; regardless, you may or may not expect an email shortly after your approval saying your application is disapproved. This may or may not be accurate or a glitch in the notification system. "Even though the VSP window does not close until 1 May, more than 340 officer and approximately 2,400 enlisted VSP applications have been approved as of Apr 18*." * Even though we said that applications would be processed in monthly batches, we can still revel in our ability to move to goalposts to ensure we never miss a deadline.... 2
CosmoPilot Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 Nothing is updated. The red/blue matrix is the one they released on the 17th of last week (you know, the one they released too late to let folks know they weren't eligible anymore for the new TERA window that opened on the 15th). Yeah, it was posted on the 17th, but the "Updated as of" is 15 April. The very day TERA window opened. The screwed up part is TERA originally opened before VSP. I thought for sure I'd get it because my prior E time drove me past 18 years. Others in my year group ('01 11M) wouldn't be eligible without the E time. So screwed up! Posted from the NEW Baseops.net App!
FlyFox Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 Don't know if this was posted earlier, but on the MyPers website it now says that VSP applications should be processed and answers given within 10 days after the window closes. Here's the direct quote from the website: "Applications will be approved/disapproved within approximately 10 days after window closes" Lets see if this timeline gets met.
MooseDriver1 Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 VSP denied. Year group no longer has overages. Should have just focused on traditional PC I guess. Anyone know places that have position numbers available? 2000 11M UPT ADSC til Jul 15 Posted from the NEW Baseops.net App!
chizz Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 '02 11M GI Bill June '15 Adv Fly Training Oct '15 (while others aren't getting charged for the same training, bush league!) VSP denied. Come on PC! Can I still apply for the 1-1 program now that our year group is red? What a goat rope. "You never have too much gas...unless you're on fire"
Lumbergh Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 '02 11M GI Bill June '15 Adv Fly Training Oct '15 (while others aren't getting charged for the same training, bush league!) VSP denied. Come on PC! Can I still apply for the 1-1 program now that our year group is red? What a goat rope. "You never have too much gas...unless you're on fire" I think red means they've reached their magic number for your YG/AFSC for FY14 Force Management, so I don't think you'd be able to apply for 1-1 since that's a FY14 program, but who knows. You should still be good for traditional PC. Don't know if this was posted earlier, but on the MyPers website it now says that VSP applications should be processed and answers given within 10 days after the window closes. Here's the direct quote from the website: "Applications will be approved/disapproved within approximately 10 days after window closes" Lets see if this timeline gets met. It says "approximately". They've left themselves an out. I guess it's slightly better than the blatant lying/misinformation that's been going on since Dec
Cyril Figgus Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 11M and 08 commission / 09 TAFCSD (w/6 years by 31 Jan 15) UPT ADSC with 5.5 years left at requested DOS Denied VSP today... received robot email that said I'm denied because my year group/AFSC was closed and I am ineligible for any voluntary or involuntary FY14 programs. Originally denied with first batch and reapplied in Mar. Not sure whether I was considered as an '08er (58 overage in Jan matrix) or '09er (no 11M overage) for VSP due to 8 month post-ROTC furlough in lieu of casual status. Good luck to everyone else!

aerobat95 Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 VSP Denied 2001 year group, 11M, 3yrs UPT ADSC left
Redbaron13 Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 VSP denied today 2002 11M 1yr 9/11 transfer ADSC Thanks to everyone who posted info on this debacle
HoHum Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 It sounds like AFPC is cutting all the apps in the year groups that recently changed to red and continuing to sit on the remaining elegible apps.
LettersVSandP Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 Sorry, for those of you who were denied recently. My VSP is still awaiting "adjudication". I'm wondering if your CMS status changed from "Referred to Voluntary Separation BPO" at any point. Mine changed to "Referred to Voluntary Separation Pay Off" a few weeks ago and I'm hoping this is where approved applications go to wait for Adjudication Day (May 1st). Anyone who has been approved notice the progression of offices your application went through? I think we're smarter than AFPC and can figure out their Rube Goldberg device. Note: I'm talking about CMS and not the status on your application in the Separations application. That hasn't changed for me since it passed my Wg/CC and says "Referred to BPO". Obviously, I'm quoting from memory because vMPF is down yet again. Fortunately, I've looked at these statuses so often, I'm fairly certain I remember them.

I had the referred to Voluntary Separation Pay Off on mine, but so have people who were approved... Unlike TERA approval indicators, don't think there are any for VSP

panchbarnes Posted April 26, 2014 Posted April 26, 2014 You know nothing is going to happen until CSAF/SECAF send out another e-mail asking everyone to recommit to the AF Core Values. 2
Dave Koza Posted April 26, 2014 Posted April 26, 2014 (edited) VSP denied Thursday afternoon. 2003 11M w/ 11 months UPT ADSC and 5 months PCS ADSC. For the rest of May, it is safe to say that no news is good news. Best of luck to everyone still waiting to hear back. Edited April 26, 2014 by Dave Koza
