April 5, 201411 yr Via John Q Public Facebook; apparently AFPC is now doing take backs for previously approved applications. You smell that? Someone's lawyering up!
April 5, 201411 yr My original VSP app was never denied. It made it to afpc 13 Feb. 2006 11M, still waiting on approval/disapproval in the "OFF OF VSP". Also prior E with 12.5 yrs total. Is this where your app is according to vmpf? Mine has been "referred to BPO" since Feb 12. Just wondering where people are getting their stays updates from. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
April 5, 201411 yr Mine has also been at "Referred to BPO" since 18 Mar. The last movement was when the Wing/CC resubmitted following my attachment of the new IRR statement. Did anyone have to call or do any other action to get it to move beyond the "Referred to BPO" point?
April 5, 201411 yr It is mentioned earlier in the thread, but bears repeating; CMS (found on the upper right hand corner of the VMPF home screen) will give you a few more details about the status of your application. Not much, but more. The separation tab of VMPF says that my app is "Reffered to BPO" but CMS tells me that it is referred to the "Vol Officer Sep Pay Office" or some such.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk It's referred to BPO through VMPF but when I talked to TFSC they said it's at the last stop. Yours is probably there too. Edited April 5, 201411 yr by shweaty
April 5, 201411 yr Let me rephrase it for you in small words: if you have to ask if you can VSP instead of just rolling the bones, then you don't want to VAP bad enough. If you apply and aren't eligible, they'll deny it. If you're eligible, you may have a chance. This is horseshit. We got stuck with conflicting guidance and a general lack of top-down communication. It should never happen again if we've got anything to do about it. Help the dude out if you've got info. Edited April 5, 201411 yr by VSP or 365
April 5, 201411 yr OMG. Some dude over on the FB retirements page posted this today: "Wow, I can't believe this is happening to me. After my Command notified me that my TERA was approved Thursday, I receive and email late Friday from AFPC that my application was denied. It is now the weekend and I am deployed, so there is not much I can do to get more information. Somebody please tell me this is all joke?" Holy shit. THAT is awful. Wow. Others have said similar things on that page. Can you imagine that? Poor guy. God damn. ETA: When it happened to me it wasn't earthshattering because they hadn't really been approving officers yet so I wasn't shook up by the up too much. Edited April 5, 201411 yr by Altus Barbarosa
April 5, 201411 yr 2001 11R TERA... For one of you guys lucky enough to have had your TERA approved ( and still watching the rest of us in misery on this forum... ) My status has been on FM- Validation Complete ( I think that is the correct wording) for quite sometime. Was this the last status you showed before getting the good news? The NLT 1 Apr has come and gone... I'm really trying not to become the bitter angry Maj. but the blue shenanigans are not helping. https://youtu.be/MFZG8KQJni8 Edited April 5, 201411 yr by jstarsshag
April 5, 201411 yr It's referred to BPO through VMPF but when I talked to TFSC they said it's at the last stop. Yours is probably there too. I checked the Case Management System status last night and mine says "Referred to AFPC Off Voluntary Sep Office" or something to that effect. I just wanted to make sure by it saying "Referred to BPO" in vMPF that it wasn't one step short of being under consideration while the approvals are happening.
April 5, 201411 yr FYSA, had a dude in my unit get VSP approved late last week. 13S, 2008 YG, ADSC for PCS.
April 5, 201411 yr Had to come into work and logged into my CDB, my retirement date is blank again. Goddamn...I don't know how I'll take this if the AF pulls the rug out from under this.
April 5, 201411 yr Dude that is not good. People on fb are posting about having AFPC saying oops. Shit.

I'm in the same spot as you when I use the case management button on VMPF. Thanks for the heads up on that. You are at the last stop. TFSC told a fellow sq member that they are doing them on a one on one approval so no mass batch processing. They also told me they'll do a records review too. Just info from MILPDS not OPRs. April 5, 201411 yr Via John Q Public Facebook; apparently AFPC is now doing take backs for previously approved applications. That guy needs to keep all documentation showing that his retirement was approved and talk with his Commander. If none of that works, he should be ready with his IG and Congressional complaint.
April 5, 201411 yr wow, when you thought it couldn't get any worse, big blue pulls the TERA approval then denial....

Unbelievable to hear about folks getting the "oops, our bad" message from AFPC.
April 5, 201411 yr I just read some crazy stories from the AF retirement facebook. https://www.facebook.com/AirForceRetirement I just called the AFPC MyPers hotline and the person I talked to said that this was in fact not a joke, they changed their mind on some applications, and mine went from approved to disapprove. I just called as well and same story... I received an approval message last week. The date disappeared from my CDB. TFSC said that I no longer have an approval in the system and the they are working this weekend to send out all the disapproval messages.
April 5, 201411 yr wow, when you thought it couldn't get any worse, big blue pulls the TERA approval then denial.... Not to stoke the fear, but this has much bigger ramifications than just to those who have already been hosed. Now everyone who is approved for any of these programs is worried that they will get a "Sorry, nevermind" email. Whatever shred of AFPC credibility remained is forever gone. If they don't reverse those reversals, then every approval is really just a "maybe."

Mypers still shows me as approved but my retirement date is gone from the CDB, TFSC says they have no idea what this means other than I am not retiring 1 August.
April 5, 201411 yr Looking at my CMS just now, it doesn't look like anything has changed...still at BPO or whatever. However, I no longer have the option to see my application under the separations sections of vMPF. I go to "self service actions" and then "separations" and then there are the following options to click on: DD Form 214 worksheet, initial separation worksheet, officer voluntary separation tutorial, voluntary separation, and pre-separation order worksheet. I may be taking crazy pills but I do not recall seeing all of these options before, especially the DD form 214 and the initial separation worksheet. Also, now when I click on the voluntary separation option it doesn't do anything (which I think that was how I used to get to my submitted application). Anyone on VMPF see something similar? 2006, C-17, K11M3K, 4 years ADSC Edited April 5, 201411 yr by rbigred300

Now even if you get a separation date you can't be sure, we better give future employers fair warning that anything could change at any time. What a joke. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
April 5, 201411 yr AFPC really needs to get their PA folks ahead of this. They should come clean with the mistake publicly, immediately outline the remedy (let them go), and explain how they will prevent this mistake in the future. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
