October 14, 201114 yr *loosely related revival* What is the range of an F-4D and F-4E point to point? Loiter time? Anyone? Depends a lot on configuration? Clean? Two wing bags? Centerline? Wings and centerline? Loaded with stuff on the other hardpoints? Very hard to say without a lot of assumptions about configurations. Loiter time varies with load and distance to-from base, but maybe 45 minutes at 200NM from base with a nominal load.. However, basic ferry range for the F-4E would be about 1000 NM. with internal and wing tanks only...maybe 1200 miles with a centerline tank added.
