  1. A buddy of mine at Vance said they were shifting toward sending all UPT students to SERE before IPT (like ETCA says). When I asked the 71 STUS about this they said it's case by case dependent on availability/timing at SERE. If a student gets there well before their IPT class starts and there's availability at SERE, they'll go asap. If not they'd go after finishing UPT. All comes down to timing.
  2. Had this happen to a friend of mine as well, they were notified Friday. Interestingly they put rotary wing pilot at 1 and CSO 2, got picked up for CSO but not UHT and turned down the slot. Commander got a call Friday that short-notice they could add her to the roster at Ft Novosel. Maybe whatever is going on at Laughlin isn't limited to just that base/fixed wing rated accessions.
  3. As far as I can tell there's no info about what IPT location we'll end up at on vMPF with just training dates and a RIP. The ETCA page for SV8IPT has possible IPT locations listed but no info about which dates/classes go with which location. I called the 71 STUS and they said they won't know which classes students are assigned to until 2-3 classes before the current class starts (i.e., if IPT 27-06 just started, the STUS should have just finished the roster for 27-08 and be finalizing 27-09). Mileage may vary by UPT base on this. I have the IPT class schedule-location roster for Vance (though it only has class numbers, not dates) if anyone wants to shoot me a dm with their DoD email I can teams it. Has anyone else gotten a RIP yet?
  4. Did you happen to mean "SV" is projected IPT date? The education and training course announcements page (url in the RIP I got) shows "S-V8I-PT" as the course ID for the IPT courses and “P-V4A-B" as the ETCA course IDs for UPT.
  5. Another friend at my duty station has a spouse at Laughlin and said there's something going down but couldn't disclose what (lowkey performatively cryptric, but we were in a restaurant so fair I guess). Will follow up if they tell me.
  6. A buddy at Pensacola told me this morning that around 50 CSO Lts on casual status were pulled to go to Laughlin for UPT. Between these and my personal experience exchanging messages a couple times with AFPC, there seems to be some kind of pilot-select crisis at Laughlin, like they chronically under-selected students to attend UPT there. If the Air Force just under-allocated 150 pilot slots in a single fiscal year that's kind of alarming.
  7. Follow-up on no AMEL rumors (for the nerds like me who care about an FAA rating lol): After talking to a buddy at Denton IPT, there's a hard cutoff after which students have to return to their UPT base. If maintenance/weather prevents planes from flying and students can't get the last checkride in they aren't penalized, they'll just have to leave IPT without that last rating. Also, if you're lucky enough to know your IPT base you can get the welcome packet for your 141 school from the ETCA CAC-site.
  8. Got my RIP for Vance, IPT in November (requested later date). No info on IPT location.
  9. This is good to hear. There were rumors last year that students were finishing IPT with just multi-engine time, no certificate.
  10. Literally... My boss asked why I keep refreshing EFMP lol I just want to know my base!
  11. Possibly, but then wouldn't we have heard about assignments for the ENJJPT folks first? Maybe they've already moved onto bigger things and don't associate with us lowly UPT selects lol
  12. Congrats man! Was Columbus your first choice for base preference?
  13. CSS notified and forwarded to member, at least in this case. I’m not seeing anything on my vMPF or using any of the tricks to see orders while they’re still loading through the system.
  14. Buddy who got picked up for CSO was sent a RIP late this afternoon. Stellar timing for a government shutdown LOL
  15. Gonna keep it real guys, unless you need to get exempted from the VML (which can probably be done through your current AFSC OAT), your career field wants you to PCS/A, or have a family emergency, it's probably not appropriate to email the UFT board. I get being frustrated about the 30-60 day window for RIPs closing but their email is explicit in that they ask if you do not get assignment info by 1 Mar 26 to then contact the org box. Asking for an update because we're at 60+ days is jumping the gun. The shutdown definitely didn't help organizing training dates for us and the other >930 rated accessions. Not saying it's morally right or fair, but honestly, part of the job is giving up some capacity to plan for the future to AFPC. I've never met a retiree who said they had perfect communication and heads-up for every transition in their career.
  16. Hoping info starts to trickle out this week. Ideally we all have something before the holiday lull.
  17. Still no word since the email from 7 Nov. Without anything loaded in MilPDS my FSS is getting ansy--I was supposed to PCS at the end of November but my understanding of the PSDM is that all pending assignments are to be cancelled. Nothing short of laying siege to my apartment will get me to move.
  18. They double check everything like @Justwanttofly said, usually takes about 2-3 full days. Eyes are the big thing. If you wear glasses follow their instructions about wearing them to a T. Iirc about 30% of attendees (including AFROTC and Guard/Reserve) pop something, with 20-25% being waiverable. So only 5-10% of everyone going to MFS gets DQ'd, presumably a lower percentage for those with FC1 in hand.
  19. Pretty shocked these stats didn't land you an ENJJPT slot. Must be some insane studs out there (who know a 3-star)
  20. Also Vance as top choice, got a few buddies from undergrad there already. Really hoping for Pensacola IPT. Scared shitless for formation flying. Spending as many hours as I can in the Milviz/Blackbird Microsoft Flight Simulator T-6A module—in reality I’m not sure if it’ll help.
  21. REMINDER: the PSDM is Controlled Unclassified Information. it is not authorized for distribution on non-AF networks or to individuals who cannot be confirmed DoD personnel.
  22. Also adding basic stats for future applicants to gauge their packages off of: 99 PCSM/94 Pilot, 80ish hours, PPL, 1/2 at Wing, med qual'ed by MFS, 1 year in non-rated career field, no deployment, LoRec from O-6 viper driver and former wing commander
  23. I'm happy to confirm you are better informed than I am. My commander received notification I was selected today. Keeping my fingers crossed for you all!!
  24. Huge--much better news than what my source had shared. Glad to hear they might've been misinformed!
