  1. Congratulations dude. We're both at Creech I believe. I’m at the 22nd
  2. Just got notified! UPT Select! 99 Pilot 98 PCSM 320 flight hours PPL/Instrument/Commercial/MultiEngine/Certified Flight Instructor. #1 at squadron/group/wing! First time applying. 11 years in the military. Prior enlisted maintainer/ Prior Flight Engineer/ Current RPA Pilot.
  3. Congratulations! I’m waiting to hear. I’m on the west coast and so our day is just getting started
  4. Like I said....Take what I said with a huge grain of salt. I am hoping what I heard was right and I hope this government shutdown doesn't delay the results
  5. Hey all, What I’m about to share, take with a very large grain of salt. I have a friend who applied and their commander was actually on the board this year and just based on a conversation we were having, although the government is shutdown, results are still being processed and potentially at final adjudication. Final adjudication means that the selection list is making its way up the chain for final approval before being released by AFPC. To me it would make no sense that the Air Force would leave a board like this up to soley gov civilians to process. There had to have been a contingency plan in place. But again, after over a decade in the Air Force, I can maybe count on one how many things have been done that makes sense lol. However, with this news and my friend actually being stationed at Randolph extremely close to AFPC, I am hopeful for results in the coming weeks.
  6. Hey! If you don’t mind I’d like to share a bit of advice. Submit and Forget! That is a phrase I was told when I applied for OTS. Thinking about this constantly will drive you crazy. And it will get worse if you add in the fact that the government is shutdown so the office that should be processing things isn’t even in. If you’re selected this will be your last year in your current careerfield. So! Make memories, and cherish the potential limited moments you have left. If you aren’t selected, you should be set up for success next year because you can use this time to make yourself more competitive. I hope this makes sense. It’s okay to thing about it but don’t let it consume you.
  7. I just know these government officials need to get their act together and open the government and quibble about their issues where it doesn’t effect millions of Americans.
  8. And I’m just curious what plugs do you have to get this info lol. I myself know people in high places but none particularly in AFPC.
  9. What else can you get from this little birdie? Maybe allocations? Or the commonality amongst packages that scored high?
  10. Absolutely right. Our fates are decided already. Over the next few weeks, things are just being finalized, routed, approved, and eventually disseminated. Literally will know within the next 50 ish days!
  11. Not to crap on anyone but I think preparing a truly competitive package and meeting the needs of the Air Force will probably be what gets you through the door. And further more already being rated makes things super competitive for you already because as a rated officer, you don’t really get put in leadership positions until your what a captain? Most Lt’s in non rated jobs are OIC’s as second Lt’s. Additionally, the way you are selected for this board may be the same way OTS boards go. They could only have a certain number of slots needing to be filled and depending on your board score if you don’t have a good enough board score it may not get you over the threshold to get one of those slots. Example, I’ve seen some packages of people explaining all that they’ve done in their current career field and all the good they’ve done but not really highlight their potential in the new field their trying to get into. So yes there may be an increase in Lt selections, but what careers fields are those Lt’s in, how many of them are rated, how many of them actually led and demonstrated the ability to take on a level of increased responsibility.
  12. No they have access to all of that stuff already. Some are just wanting to get their opb that maybe just closed out and wasn’t a part of their file yet to be included in their UFT package. The board is already happening and the majority of the packages have probably already been reviewed. Honestly I don’t think an opb is going to move the needle enough to yield a selection or not. If the rest of your package shows your potential to be an effective aviator and you have good scores that’ll move the needle. I wouldn’t worry about anything. Nothing much you can really do at this point.
  13. Yeah the guy at AFPC is extremely helpful. He called me this morning to request a doc from me. But we’ve been in contact for almost 2 years now. As far as the strats afpc isn’t going to change them. I’m assuming you’re at Creech. I know no one knows their Strats from the wing but if you know how you did at the group there’s a good chance your strat at the wing may be the same or close to where the group stratted you.
  14. That’s how I’m looking at it. More hours!
  15. From some friends I know that have recently gone through and from a few FAIPs I know, you will still go through IPT regardless. I have all the way up to my CFI and if I’m selected I’ll have to go through IPT. I was also told if you have these ratings already, you’d just do the stage checks and not the checkrides.
  16. I was notified that my package was received and will meet the board in September. The program managers I’m assuming reached out to all wing execs telling them whose packages were received in anticipation of wing execs sending word down the chain. That’s not how I found out how mine was received but then again, those who applied from my wing don’t even know where they stratted.
  17. Yeah constantly looking at your package is going to drive you crazy. I recommend just downloading the countdown app and setting it for like November 14th. That’s my estimation when results will be released and having that be a date to look forward to and then just focusing on continuing to grow where you are now. Football is about to start, then we have thanksgiving. Join a fantasy league and have fun with that. Just do something else except open your package. What’s there is there and you can’t change it. The board is 4 weeks away. Can you find something cool to do for 4 weeks lol. I’m taking my multi engine check ride this week. I take the family to Hawaii in a week and a half, then October will be here before you know it. Then it’s at least 45 days until we all know once October hits. What is submitted is submitted. I got confirmation that my package is board ready and will meet the board in September. Other than that, there’s nothing else I can do.
  18. Not really. I have a rule to submit and forget. That’s what I did when applying to OTS. Now do I think about it? Yes and wish November was here already. But I can’t speed up time. So I’m focusing on still kicking ass at work and football!!! And my family lol.
  19. Between November 14th to the 21st with an official release of probably the 28th and pcs’s starting in January or February.
  20. I’m not sure why my reply didn’t post but I’m typing it again. In my sq, we have instructor Lt’s so that’s weird your sq doesn’t have that. But, in my squadron there were about 5 that I believe submitted and I think all 5 made it to the wing. I did get confirmation that my package made it to the board so I’m hoping others did as well. As for the wing strat, I’d love to know how I did and I hate that this year it was changed to where the wing had to submit packages because it felt like once the package left the sq, it just went to a black hole. But at this phase I do believe that knowing how you did at the wing may be a moot point. If we’re meant to be picked up this year then we will, regardless of wing strats. After asking around I know how I did at the group, my sq cc told us, and I am assuming the rankings at the group could be similar to how we did at the wing since the group strat doesn’t go on the 215. Regardless, being rated already makes things super competitive and you gotta figure out how to make yourself stand out and FAA ratings beyond ppl can help because it seems like everyone has a ppl now a days. Anyways good luck to you and your peeps in your sq.
  21. If you don’t mind what wing are you at or base
  22. Last year when I was going to apply. My commander at the time said there’s rumblings that if you’re going to apply for UPT through the cross flow board that FY25 and FY26 are the years you want to apply to. So I’m assuming a good number of slots.
  23. Gents and Ladies Today was submission day. Good luck to everyone and looking forward to results!!
