Doesn't sound like a bad gig but they might as well just put everybody on the RPA syllabus at doss. More experience even in the da20 is better than less.
When I was there pilots only did up to the solo then they had their pre check and check rides. For RPA, we started doing the nav routes dual and solo plus the cross country and night flight before pre check and check. Makes sense if you think it's the only time we get actual in aircraft experience. Are pilots doing more than just solo, pre check, and check at IFT now?
That's great and all but he asked if he had to wear them and the technical answer is yes. Up to them if they want to follow the AFI. Doesn't bother me.
5.1.2.4.1 "...Chaplain, aeronautical, space, cyberspace and missile operations badges are mandatory and, except for the missile operations badge, will always be worn in the highest position...."

When I went through MFS a few years ago, they never actually sent the SF-600 but my assignment notification info said we can pick it up at our local flight med.
Gotcha. I haven't seen any dates so I just emailed them. I did however get my assignment requirements email and it had some interesting stuff in it. Like saying on one sheet I need an SCI for UPT??? Also had something about going to MFS but AFPC said when I emailed them that I am good to go and don't have to go back so I guess I just need to hit up flight med when I get back from my TDY to get the SF600.
Honestly, a simple name patch should work. Your base will order you one with the correct color combo when you arrive. As long as the one you get for IFT is in regs, you're good with whatever color you want.
I'm toward the end of the line as well. I guess since I don't need MFS or IFT they could just give me an assignment and hopefully a class date soon.
Nice! If that's what's showing for the EFMP trick then that's what's loaded for your assignment. Mine was showing that for a week before I got the email with my official assignment notification of Columbus. I guess I'll be seeing you out there!
Just to note. You don't have to have family who is EFMP to do the trick. You don't even need to have dependents. If you have an assignment loaded, the EFMP trick seems to work. If you don't have an assignment yet, then following the steps won't produce any results.
- Log into vMPF and click under self-service actions
- Click on Assignments (while in self-service) and go down to the EFMP section
- In the new tab, click on the "apply to change/cancel assignment
- If this doesn't kick back with "MILPDS doesn't reflect an assignment loaded, click on next and choose any of the options then next again. This next screen will tell you what unit and base you will be going to.
