DC update: 2020 UPT Board update: Aspiring Fighter Pilots, first off thank you to the 121+1 of you who applied, we understand the time requirement and take each application very seriously. Current events have changed the timeline. Applications will be reviewed by May and candidates who advance to the next events should be notified in June. Ft Worth sent out emails to those they intend to invite to the meet and greet after the covid stuff. DC is in a holding pattern and has not selected any interview candidates (Info from talking to a pilot at the squadron) Nola last info was, Due to COVID-19 concerns, leadership has just now decided to cancel the rush this weekend. In addition the May UPT board has also been postponed. I have to go fly right now but I'll keep you posted on whatever else I get. That was from SLAM the POC so they are in a holding pattern along with everyone else. Fresno has suspended their board and after the covid is over they will give everyone a month to submit any application updates before selecting/sending invites (info from Steamer the POC) MD, SD, and NJ have pushed back their application due dates and their boards are still tentatively on schedule.

Have had great results with an RV-6 on a grass strip, they handle just fine. My personal opinion tail-draggers are much easier and more forgiving on grass instead of pavement, especially if you are doing a 3 pointer. Haven't done any gravel strip or river, but I'm assuming shouldn't be too much different YMMV. Any of the RV models are a ton of fun to fly, just no ground loops😏

Congrats man! What number interview was it for you? And are you prior or off the street?

Some do some do not. If the hiring squadron wants you to make an introduction video to go along with your application package it will be specifically stated in the application instructions. Good luck!
