  1. It took one week, they said I wouldn’t hear anything for a month so I was a little surprised haha
  2. Hey all, just heard back from the 144th AS in Anchorage, got the slot! Any others pick up a slot in Alaska recently? And thanks for y'alls help over the last year while I’ve been applying!
  3. Thanks for the input! I’ve booked my ticket to be there for a week, which they actually have a five day block to plan to be there anyway with static displays on Sunday and interviews starting Monday and ending Thursday. I’m really looking forward to it. Of the 6 places I’ve dropped a packet Alaska was my top choice, and Alaska is the only one that’s offered me an interview.
  4. Uh, I’m in this unit, but I’m a crew chief so not in ops, anyway I’ve not heard a peep about any of this?
  5. Got an email confirming an interview in Anchorage for the Alaska Air Guard last night. Anyone else going to interview next month? Just got my plane ticket!
  6. The 731st Airlift Squadron in Colorado Springs (Reserves) has been flying the MAFFS mission with C-130Hs as long as I can remember. They have an alert line for firefighting so during the fire season they fly those missions a lot, however not all of their pilots are qualified for that mission, the unit decides who they are going to qualify. They also said they aren’t doing age waivers right now if that’s any concern. I visited them during their last UTA. The only other unit I know of that does MAFFS is in LA and they are a Guard unit flying the C-130J.
  7. Hey all, I'm trying to connect with someone from the 446th AW at JBLM. I can't seem to find any information anywhere about pilot hiring there except every now and then when someone says they got hired. Should I just contact their recruiting office with their generic "contact us" page? In previous experience I've found the recruiters can usually only help with enlisted interest and don't know much about pilot hiring. Any information would be a big help. Thanks!
  8. Ah, that's just how I saw it worded somewhere else. Thanks for the response.
  9. Any talk on when they might open up hiring following their C-17 transfer? I saw 2019 but was curious if anyone knows what time of year?
  10. I get my degree in August. Think there's any chance they'd let me interview this summer or going to have to wait until next year?
  11. My unit is showing about a year from hire date to OTS right now... is this typical across the guard? Kind of frustrating my unit wont hire until you have your degree and then you have to wait a year doing nothing. Wish they'd go back to hiring 6 months out from graduation. Trying to figure out what I'm going to do for a year if I do apply to my unit... flight instructing isn't making any money right now and I live too far from base to work too many AT days. :/
  12. Always wanted to fly 17's but it sounds like I've been spoiled crewing guard 135's. Tempo still the same? min-turn trips and desert trips? Haha maybe I've had it too good with TDY-vacations.
  13. Still a long line at JBLM? Their website doesn't even appear to have any information about pilot hiring.
