    Strzok compromised: http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2017/12/12/texts-between-ex-mueller-team-members-emerge-calling-trump-loathsome-human-idiot.html
NOTE: I honestly tried to find a left-leaning site with the story, but they all seem to want to downplay every single negative text about Trump... Obviously Fox is trying to play into the conspiracy theorists, but you're free to interpret the texts as you wish. Bottom line: a bunch of negative texts about Trump and his family (and the idiot American voting public for voting for him), and a lot of positive texts about the Obamas.

    Comey's leak: https://www.factcheck.org/2017/07/trumps-unfounded-leak-claim/
    1. Comey acknowledged that he had “asked a friend of mine [later identified as Columbia University professor Daniel C. Richman] to share the content of the memo with a reporter.” Comey testified that after the president had tweeted that Comey had better hope there were no “tapes” of their conversation, Comey gave the memo to the Columbia Law School professor to provide to the media so that it “might prompt the appointment of a special counsel.”
    2. “It was a classified briefing and so I wrote that on a classified device,” Comey said in response to a question on whether all the memos were unclassified. “The one I started typing … in the car — that was a classified laptop that I started working on.”But Comey said the memo he shared with a friend was unclassified. In his written testimony, Comey says of the Feb. 14 memo: “I immediately prepared an unclassified memo of the conversation about Flynn and discussed the matter with FBI senior leadership.”
“So you didn’t consider your memo or your sense of that conversation to be a government document?” Sen. Roy Blunt asked in the June 8 Senate hearing. “You considered it to be, somehow, your own personal document that you could share with the media as you wanted to through a friend?”
“Correct,” Comey said. “I understood this to be my recollection recorded of my conversation with the president. As a private citizen, I felt free to share that. I thought it important to get it out.”The Hill noted that when the memos — which Comey said he had turned over to Special Counsel Robert Mueller — were recently shown to Congress “the FBI claimed all were, in fact, deemed to be government documents.”

It seems as if Comey is trying to make the case that he decides which info is unclassified and which info isn't (don't know the answer to this one)... and that meeting with the President when he was the FBI director was a meeting he had as a "private citizen", and therefore his notes are his property and not government documents (which the FBI seems to disagree with).

I don’t want my president making policy based on sound bites whether they come from Fox, CNN, MSNBC, RT, or the dark side of the fucking moon.  There is evidence that suggests President Trump does exactly that with scary regularity. Militarizing the border is the latest example.  The leader of the free world ought to be able to make well thought out policy de isions on his own, backed up by the expert opinions of a well vetted and highly qualified cabinet and corps of advisers. Sean Hannity and the gang at Fox and Friends don’t qualify in my book. I never argued any media source wasn’t biased. My argument is that the guy in the White House is, in the words of one of his recently departed experts, a fucking moron.

"A fucking moron"... bit of a stretch for a guy that beat out "the most qualified Presidential candidate in history"... Abrasive on twitter? Absolutely. A fucking moron? Highly doubtful. But what do I know, I'm a fucking deplorable

Not needed, but if crimes are uncovered while investigating something else, should he have just looked the other way? Isn't it his DUTY, as a law enforcement officer, to lay charges for all crimes that have been found during an investigation... even if that specific crime wasn't the target of the investigation?

If you have 10 kilos of coke in the backseat of your car, and you get pulled over for speeding, should the officer ignore the coke and just write a ticket for speeding?

If you're being investigated for possible murder and they find evidence you launder money for the mob, should they ignore that because they were only looking at you for murder?

    Your argument makes no sense.

I'm not a lawyer or in any job that deals with law enforcement... But let's say I get pulled over for speeding, then the officer gets a warrant to search my car based on the initial crime of speeding. He finds 10 kilos of coke hidden under the back seat (I'm a smart drug dealer, don't insult me by assuming I'd leave drugs in plain view of the officer), but later in court it's discovered that I was not actually speeding and the officer pulled me over because he felt like it and happened to get lucky with the coke bust... Weren't my 4th amendment rights violated?

If I'm being investigated for murder, and lie to the investigators about who I met with on the day the crime was committed, but it turns out I didn't commit murder and the person who said that I was the one who did was mistaken and they found the actual killer... Would I still be charged with misleading investigators? (again, honest question)

I never made an argument for letting the charge of lying slide... Just stated that I'm underwhelmed with the charges stemming from such a high profile investigation.

Finally, my point is that it seems like there is a big push to put the investigation before the crime and without probable cause. The assumption of guilt is coming before the investigation. My understanding of the law of the US is that we have a presumption of innocence...

Are you saying that's weak as in pointless, or weak as in it didn't happen and some "deep state" is rising up against the anointed Prez?

Just so we're clear, you're fine with some crimes getting prosecuted, but not others.  So you're cool with the original Slick Willy issues while he was in office?  Since you don't think lying to the FBI/investigators should be punishable.

Weak as in pointless. I don't think a special counsel is needed to go after internet trolls. Personally, I think if Bill Clinton was President today and the Lewinsky story broke, people wouldn't really care nearly as much as they did back then. And I never said lying to the FBI shouldn't be punished, just implied that the actual lies aren't as groundbreaking as I would expect from a special counsel investigation. In your honest opinion, is the special counsel making great strides towards punishing those involved in "Russian meddling" in our election? And do you believe that the Trump campaign actively aided the Russians in said meddling?

A little bit about me. I have always wanted to join the Reserves or ANG as a pilot. Growing up i never thought it to be possible since i was trying to chase after a career in architecture. Well after some conversation with a friend of mine from high school who is a C-5 pilot and a flight instructor for the Air Force he told me i still have a chance. Currently i am in the process of taking may ARE exams to become a licensed architect while doing all necessary items to obtain a flying position with the Reserves or ANG as a C-17 or C-130 pilot.

I would like advice on how to increase my chances for such a position in a competitive market even with a pilot shortage. I feel i am also at a huge disadvantage because i am going up against guys who are enlisted or comissioned and chasing after positions within their squadrons. I was told to try to rush squadrons but feel that it doesn't really work nor do i know best practices/where to start with that.

I am 28 and will turn 29 during the summer, i have about 22 hours towards my PPL while trying to budget to finish it. Its just hard to spend so much money on a "possibility" thats not guaranteed and its also hard to explain that to the wife when finances are tight due to the recent move and purchase of a condo. I have heard of individuals being picked up of the street in my similar situation so i feel there is hope. I just need to know what to do to market myself as far as experience, leadership, work ethic and whatever else that's appealing to a pilot candidate for the Air Force. Also I will be retaking my AFOQT/TBAS tests within the next couple of months for better scores.

I have had a whirlwind of a time dealing with recruiters and testing controllers. Recruiters tell me that they will not do anything to help me until i get my PPL, and how adornment they are about civilians not being picked up unless they have a ppl, and test controllers tell me i need to go through recruiters. Fortunately i found a test controller who is willing to help me achieve my dream. This guy has gone above and beyond to help me when others have not. I relocated to Nashville TN from columbus Ohio, and when i am ready to retake my test, i will make the 6 hour road trip to test with him seeing as how there are time frames of testing in the Nashville area for their cadets. All applications that i have submitted have been without a recruiter by my side guiding me on what to do.

Any advice on how to increase my chances of trying to chase after a dream is greatly appreciated.

I wouldn't worry about being "disadvantaged" because someone from the unit is rushing. Control what you can control. Maybe if someone has been turning wrenches on their airplanes in all sorts of weather since high school you should ask them about the unit.

Rushing squadrons: Show up on drill weekends prior to them having a board, bring a bottle to show appreciation... The rest you kind of just have to figure out.

Getting a PPL is expensive, and so is travelling around to different units... But I know people who have spent a ton of money and borrowed even more to do so. Some have gotten hired already, some haven't. All the more reason to show up and put maximum effort into getting hired.

Don't know about the reserve side, but you don't "need" a recruiter until you get the job... And at that point you'll pretty much have their contact info and it's relatively smooth. You only need a recruiter if you're trying to set up testing, which it seems you already have figured out.

Jump in there, bro. If you really want to know what they're looking for, just ask them.

  5. Avoided sentencing for what? I guess we'll find out after midterms...

Definitely OK with going after Manafort (or anybody else) for tax fraud. But all the "lying to the FBI" charges seem like punishment for not taking notes from Hillary's "I don't recall" sessions. But tell me you actually believe Trump cooked up some nefarious plot with the Russians to fvck Hillary out of the win she so deserved and there isn't a shred of partisan politics effecting any of it and I'll STFU. I mean, for fvcks sake, Mueller charged Russians for setting up a bot farm to spread misinformation... Weak.

  6. For guard guys who have every intention to become full time after UPT and stay past 20, is BRS still something to look into just for the slim chance of something happening between my ADSC and 20 years?

Edit to add: I was very fortunate to have good mentors who told me to contribute early and what each fund (C, S, I, F, lifecycle) meant, so I'm roughly 2 years into my civilian job and already have almost $20k in my TSP account.

  7. I honestly don't give 2 shits if Trump builds the wall. The Dems call him racist if he does, and they call him weak (and his supporters gullible) if he doesn't... His tough stance on immigration alone has made the number of attempted illegal crossing plummet. ICE also seems happy that they aren't being thrown under the bus every time they attempt to do their job and enforce the law.  And you can tell its pissing off the hardliner lefties because every day I have to read a story about how every visa over stayer that is getting kicked out is a Nobel peace prize candidate who does 100 hours of community service a week with 5 kids who are getting into ivy league schools, and who would probably cure cancer and eliminate world hunger before bringing peace to the middle east if it wasn't for the fact that now their family is being broken up because that pesky visa has just barely expired 20 years ago.

Does anyone have an idea on if you need to have your TS security clearance prior to receiving your training dates? Or is it only prior to showing up on UPT?

Not sure if this has been asked somewhere else, but can't find the information anywhere.

Like others have said, I'm 99.69% sure it doesn't have to be complete before UPT. You should definitely get it done as soon as possible, though. I have already done my interview, and I think it took ~9 months from submission to when they started calling me about setting up a time/place to meet.

For anyone showing up who plans on staying in the dorms, the manager tells you it's a twin XL mattress, but it's really a full XL (53x80). Just in case you want to order the right size sheets/mattress topper. keep your 'hospital corner' game strong.

FIFY. I know what you meant.

  10. Easier to separate D and R into their respective corners, ring the bell and incite the fight... Much harder to address and correct the fact that mental health has taken a back seat to social justice. Gun or no gun, bad craniums do bad things.

    Honest inquiry... Your solution?

  12. UPDATE: While I was at OTS, the leadership specifically said "We read everything online about how the physical training here is not challenging, so we are specifically inceasing the intensity and frequency of PT."

Personally, I thought the PT at first was a bit forced. We seemed to do 5 days straight of running (~ 3 miles at a slow pace), then rest for a day or two, then 5 days of mainly chest exercises. At the end of the course, a lot of people had complaints about how the workouts weren't "varied" enough. The leadership seemed to take notes on that and I'm sure it'll be more of a mix of muscle groups for the next few classes.

Our class was specifically told we were doing a lot more PT than previous classes, so YMMV... All in all, I can't complain, but I would liked to have had more personal PT time to hit the gym instead of always doing body weight stuff... But you can't make everyone happy.

Do I have a shot at any non-UAV pilot slot? Heck, I'll go for fighter just like anyone else but I think I wouldn't be completely bummed if I got to fly in anything with wings. Should I just go for reserves so I know where I'm headed exactly, or active-duty for the best chances?

Once I take a flight physical and ensure I can qualify, I was considering getting a PPL if that would help. Big investment though so want to be sure I have a chance. Also, wrong section but, I feel like my eyes are on the borderline for acceptable at 2.75 (20/200)... unless there's waivers... is it possible to get Lasik as a civilian now or is it still only available with a USAF surgeon?

Dad wanted me to go navigator reserve at a nearby C130 base (910th) but I thought why settle there. Took TBAS and AFOQT this month. I think I mostly just did bad on the control stick portion of the TBAS, despite a lot of flight sim games... think an FPS game with a flight stick would've been better.

I definitely think you have a shot. You've probably heard this before, and you'll hear it again: Whole Person Concept. I also think you should try to get your PPL or as many hours as you can afford.

Reserves vs. Active Duty is your personal choice. You can always apply for both and see which one gets you there faster if that's truly what you want.

You can get Lasik/PRK done as a civilian, and sooner is better than later from what I've been told by others who have had the surgery.

As for the Nav//fighter/etc questions you seem to be asking, I would recommend you start to focus in on what you want to do. There's a long road ahead of you, and not being sure that the route you took is exactly what you want is not going to help you get through all the training. If you want to go after a pilot slot, go after a pilot slot. If you've always wanted to fly fighters, go after fighters. If you truly don't care what you fly, and just want to get there quick, apply for anything and everything (including AD).

    Good luck!

  14. Done a little bit of research on boots... I'm primarily concerned with getting good boots that are lightweight and good/comfortable for running in. What do you guys think about Nike SFB vs Rocky C4T? Those seem to be the two that guys are comfortable running and spending a lot of time in.

You may want to read up on how professional organizations do polling; your characterization of how it works is not remotely close to accurate. This is not a bad summary.

Valid, I'm not an expert on polling nor will I ever be (or care to be), which is why I came sarcasm loaded. But, in my defense, the so called "experts" in political polling consistently get it wrong, even when everyone knows their estimates are very far off. I personally think it is mostly bias, but whatever the case I simply couldn't care less because polls are polls (like rumors are rumors), and I never take them unless I'm picking which football team is going to win.

As an aside, wouldn't my "people stopped taking the ACA polls once the Repubs won the majority" fit into the "boomerang effect" from your link? I.e. President Trump says he will repeal ACA so I'm not going to take a poll asking my opinion on whether or not it should stay. I already voted for someone who wants to repeal it, he got elected... what's the point of reaffirming my stance via polling now?

Didn't even click on the link did you? Sad.

Allow me to help you out. This is a small portion of the polls combined in the graphic.

    hbfoPsz.png

It's pretty clear that more Americans favor the ACA than those who do not favor it.

Strange... I looked at the entire list, and from October 10, 2009 to Jan 7, 2017 Americans are clearly and strongly opposed to the ACA. In the past year, yes, these every-so-accurate polls are showing more people in favor of the ACA... Maybe America is in an Enlightenment period and has finally discovered the amazing Utopia Obama wanted to create through government-provided healthcare/cell phones/everything else... After all, nothing says streamlined and monetary efficiency like government programs. We all remember the great successes of the VA hospitals and how Dems rode in like white knights to save the VA from the evil Republicans who wanted to defund it because Republicans hate Vets more than anything and wanted to screw them over under the guise of defunding a "corrupt and criminally negligent organization."

Or maybe less Republicans are voting in the polls because they know Trump and the Republican House/Senate want to get rid of the ACA and they don't have to fight the good fight via internet polls anymore; and more Dems are voting in the polls because they are afraid that the Obama Legacy will wither and Republicans will work in concert with the Russians to let the uber-wealthy deny all forms of healthcare to all the poor people of the land. The Trump administration will create a new form of AIDS and pump it into the inner cities while they laugh in their ivory towers as Hillary cradles a sick infant and cries out, "None of this would've happened if the electoral college didn't screw me out of a win!!"

Ok, sorry I've been reading too much Newsweek. In the end, the ACA sucks and badly hurt a close family member of mine because of the ridiculous regulations it put on small, private healthcare providers. But I'm not stupid enough to believe that the Republicans in DC are the answer to our healthcare woes. I think it would take cooperation from both sides to fix the shitshow going on in the system, so basically we're all fucked until the grandstanding idiots stop pointing fingers and start offering solutions.

So, looks like I'll be running straight up the gut for the next year and a half.  Selected September 2017, inprocessed this past week with the 340th FTG at Randolph.

OTS: 9 Jan to 9 Mar
    ...2 days later:
SERE: 12 Mar to 30 Mar
    ...4 days later:
Water survival: 4 Apr to 5 Apr
    ...5 days of driving later:
UPT (Vance): 10 Apr (report date), 24 Apr 2018 to May 2019.

Not only did I get SERE before UPT and 2 days after OTS, but no real breaks in training, just PCS travel days.

    Let's get this party started!

Did you ask for SERE before UPT? You're going to be brining your own handcuffs and whip aren't you?
