  1. Fair enough, like I said I don't know computers I just assumed the technology is there to do it.
  2. http://www.defenseone.com/technology/2015/04/how-hack-military-drone/111391/ Technology would have to change all the time to stay ahead of hackers. Seems like it's way easier to just keep the doors locked and put pilots in the seat.
  3. I'm no computer guy but wouldn't it be "easy" to hack into a planes computers and do whatever you want with it if there were no pilots on board?
  4. It's tdy enroute so I only have one set of pcs orders. The tdy portion is simply box 7 of the pcs orders
  5. all I've ever seen in the JTR is on page O-13 of appendix O... " However, for training, the training location commander, not the AO, decides if GOV’T QTRS use by a uniformed member is directed and if one of the two M&IE rates based on GOV’T dining facility/mess availability is appropriate. " The other question is who determines if lodging is suitable?
  6. Lodging is on Lackland and training is at Kelly. I have no idea what authority he has to order that. Im looking for some references in the JTR or other regs that approves all of this. I can't find anything when I search
  7. ya i havent conversed with lodging at all...its all been through the chain of command. They unfortunately have stated that Ill be staying in the available 1 bedroom setup. Which for many many reasons won't work well for 3 people to include a baby. Im an O-3 going to C-5M ACIQ for what its worth
  8. I already asked for a non - A and was denied by lodging management. They are out of 2 bedroom TLFs... The schoolhouse commander has ordered that all students stay in gov't quarters... Long story short, as of today I have been ordered to stay in a 1 bedroom TLF with both of my dependents. Because the base hotel manager deemed that "suitable" What reg justifies this?
  9. quick question: Who/what reg decides what size (# of bedrooms) TLF you are "eligible" for when TDY enroute?? Lackland is trying to stick me, my wife and 8 month old (all on my orders) in a 1 bedroom TLF for 5 months. Can they do this?
  10. It's still a reservist run program so I don't know who is requiring it but it's definitely a thing right now
  11. Only thing I can find is "however for training, the training location commander, decides if govt qtrs use by a uniformed member is directed ..." page O-13 So does mean students are required? Or what? the word "directed" is used on page O-8 when talking about how you can still get reimbursed the same as govt quarters but no more...
  12. Can a schoolhouse commander require students to use on base lodging? Is that in there anywhere? Because it's happening at Lackland for C-5M PIQ and ACIQ
  13. misunderstood what y'all were talking about. I do know that T-1 FAIPS right now aren't being considered for the B-2. So I highly doubt T-1 students will be either.
  14. A T-6 FAIP who never flew the 38 (flew T-1 in UPT) went out to Beale for the U-2 and was made a 38 IP after a very short time...
  15. Are Alta Roxbury Apartments in a safe and nice part of town?
  16. any tricks for TDY to Lackland for ACIQ? Im planning on living off base with the wife and baby in a furnished apartment for $60 a day. Anybody know how to get a non A letter other than "get lucky?" Is it true the dining facility is closed so per diem is full rate for meals?
  17. Lol I know it's not at all how it works in the real Air Force but what I described is how it works for FAIPS at cbm that's all im done talking about it though it doesn't matter anyway. That dude complaining about his buff will have to get over it
  18. na man it's all a numbers game. A commander has little or no say in where you fall. Just like UPT except it's way less than the 20% flight commanders ranking. I'd say it's like 10%. Bottom line a commander can't say "he's my guy" and then have his record that's sitting in front of the other commanders say something completely different. Or it's all just a scam to make us think it's fair haha and they just shred our docs and laugh about them at the round table.
  19. Yes he is but his score can't be an outlier or he has to explain himself. Therefore he grades it just like anyone else
  20. Lol no because it gets scored by 6 other people. He helps you submit the best possible product you can. Then lets the process take care of the rest.
  21. Ya. If your commander cares which mine did he helps you write it. It actually works really well maybe the other bases should look into it. Eliminates all the favoritism shit that is being complained about above
  22. No we never see the scores but we get told exactly where we ranked...at least my sq cc told us if we asked. They all sit around the table with the OG at the end and agree on the rankings. They hardly ever change though from the rank after the original scoring. Just curious have you ever talked to Steve schiele or afpc at all about the entire process?
  23. Wrong at least for Columbus. All FAIPS put all their accomplishments and failures both in the jet and as an officer on an official form. All kinds of stuff is on that form. That form is then ranked using a points system by every sqcc in the group with NO names on any form. therefore nobody knows who's who. Then they are put in a pile from top to bottom and that's the rack and stack. Merit = the quality of being particularly good or worthy, especially so as to deserve praise or reward. So ya it's based on merit. If you bust your ass more than the other FAIPS AND play the game well you will be ranked high but at the end of the day someone has to finish last and that's when people get butt hurt about not getting the fighter they think they deserve And ya I actually do know a ton about the assignment process.
  24. Exactly. So why not give more fighters to the younger guys if you're trying to fix a long term problem. Like I said lots will have to fill AETC billets later as well
  25. They do dole out assignments based on merit to FAIPS...those who rank last get buffs or E8s Who's a better F16 pilot at 5 years in...? A student who's flown them for 4 years or a faip who's flown t-6s for 5 years??
