No offense, I get crew rest is important, but this thread has me laughing. Deployed, I could never imagine calling crew rest. We had dudes to support on the ground and I'm sure they've had less sleep. That said, I'd never question someone's judgement. But I never had too either. I guess my unit had some perspective. We had real decisions to make. Commence spear throwing.

The fact you think an American flag patch promotes individuality is amazingly wrong. It's the opposite. And Ho Lee, why so aggressive? In response to other comments. . . Yes, the uniform is enough. My issue lies with people thinking the flag is not good enough to be on it. I got it, historically the flag hasn't been on the uniform. But, in my generation it has. So, I take pride in it. I shut up and colored and am wearing the wing patch. I thought people would see the bigger picture here. It transcends patches. But I'm sure many will think I'm making mountains out of molehills.

Yes I do. Somewhere in history we forgot what it means. Being the flag bearer was an honor. Now we roll over and act like it ain't no thing. Uniforms are fallible. The flag isn't. But apparently I'm in the minority.

I was an ACC and AFSOC guy. So I've been in both camps. I just take issue with saying our national symbol is inappropriate.

Yes please go to extremes to make my point seem ridiculous. Standardization is all well and good. But not allowing me to wear it is American blasphemy. You should look at your shoulder and see who you fight for. I don't serve for the 71 FTW but for the USA. That's my point. It's what ALL services have in common. It's what ALL Americans have in common. To say it's not authorized for my uniform is a tremendous oversight.

Nothing. What bothers me is that leadership accepts their ineptitude as the standard. Nobody is willing to fight for answers. Thus, my life will hang in the balance as I try to stay motivated for an organization whose words aren't worth the piece of paper they're written on.
