  1. Ok, I'll play. About 8 years ago at the Died a buddy of mine is taxiing out of the secure ramp (RC-135). Cop car screeches in front of the aircraft, lights flashing, and young skycop levels his rifle at the cockpit. Yep, the jet broke red! You can't make this stuff up....
  2. I did my ATP a couple of weekends ago at Central Missouri University just outside of Whiteman. I can highly recommend. Instructor is a retired B-52 and T-38 type and a good guy. The FE is the chief pilot for the CMU flight program, not a military background, but he was big-picture and fair. It went really well, even though I'd never flown the Seminole before. Anyone wanting more info, let me know.
  3. Alright, I just checked and it seems my retirement is still valid (at least for now). No emails and I still have a DOS of 31 Jul 14 on my CDB. I would have been surprised if they rescended the orders. But my observation still stands..its time to show leadership from the very top. To anyone who got a take back, I feel for you and on behalf of the Air Force, I'm sorry. It doesn't mean squat coming from me, but you deserve to hear that from someone and I'm not holding my breath that those who owe you an apology will be forthcoming. I weep for what this institution is becoming.
  4. Did anyone that got a "take back" email on Friday already have retirement orders? I got my orders Friday. , now I have to go in and check. On a Saturday. Again. If CSAF isn't flying nuts from his flagpole after this, I don't care how good of a guy he is, his term is a failure. Three drunk monkeys could run a drawdown better and still have time to fling poo.
  5. Same here. 98 continued Maj 11R (RC-135). It's on the CDB and vMPF shows a separation of 31 Jul 14 as well. Looks like it is happening.
  6. Rusty, I was tagged for a 365 to teach Afghanis to fly (O-4 T prefix billet). My validated TERA application made me ineligible. So they are still out there. Altus, Glad to hear. Maybe I'll know something soon.
  7. Bendy, I'll echo your thoughts a bit. I've got a TERA app in and validated. We all know the failures associated with that. But I was apparently on the short list for a 365 to the 'stan. Not unexpected as a 16 yr continued Maj and no tin foil conspiracies. My FM couldn't even see that my TERA app was validated, so when he told my boss they worked to get the deployment turned off since a validated TERA makes me ineligible. Stand up all the way around in my book. And to quell any questions, no I didn't know about it before the TERA app was submitted and yes, I'll be eating a 365 post-haste if I'm denied. I know that and I'm not trying to pass the shit sandwich to someone else. I'm just appreciative to not have to do the leg work to make it right. It was handled professionally at the appropriate levels by guys looking out for their folks. A big thanks to them.
  8. Hmmm..crews are scoring poor enough to fail, but the base has a "highly rated training program". Yeah, I'll buy that. Anyone have a bridge for sale? Good Lord! I don't care how "good" the paperwork looks; if the training isn't paying off in the field it is crap! The crews, as in multiple, is an indictment of the training program. Tail is wagging the dog here.
  9. Dreamer, I wish I did. I'm in the same boat. Not sure what it means but it was the first change in a month. Hopefully we'll know something soon.
  10. Fuseplug, ok cool. Unfortunately that doesnt appy to a large chunk of TERA apps. What's worse, the mandatory retirement is 5 months out and getting shorter. Factor in terminal etc, we're talking no time to be prepped for the member or the organization they are leaving. Rusty had it right, they need to shit or get off the pot most ricky-tick.
  11. Well, here's hoping I see you guys in an airline training class soon. As it is, I'd just like to know one way or the other. I'll give them until the first week in March to let me know, then I'll bug the hell out of them. I mean, if they want us out 1Aug they owe us an answer sooner rather than later. And yes, I said owe. That's just common courtesy (yeah, yeah. I know. I don't expect it).
  12. I'm still in batch processing. Hopefully know more in a week or two.
  13. ^^^^This X1000^^^^^^ If I flew my jet the way they manage the force I'd kick my own ass. I sure as hell wouldn't expect to ever get the keys again. Need to reduce the force? I know where they can start! For the love of God, this is basic shit here. Boss is breathing down your neck? Too ing bad! Get it right. Period. This stuff is too important to keep screwing up. Its real lives. Its real wasted man-hours. And its stress that shouldn't have happened. We deserve better than a B team effort.
  14. Rusty, I've been in "FM-Hold Batch Processing" since 4 Feb. I'm a 98 11R continued guy. I'll let everyone know once I receive my fate.
  15. Rusty, You speak truth. I guess I convinced myself that I could fly under the radar on this one and hoped the "personnel professionals" were approve-happy before someone engaged their brain. Cause you know, big blue can have a captain doing what I do for less coin, right Chang. I haven't been denied yet, but I'm not too hopeful at this point. At least it got me moving on airline apps and such.
