  2. Bananas work well too, seems to help them focus and just fly the run-in the way they are told.
  3. Check with your unit... for most of our reservists we had them do a 40A and attach the cert and submit it to their unit.
  4. Check your PM All (I think) of the FEMA courses will get you points, too.
  5. He's right. We've been through this ourselves with a lease and took all the paperwork to the JAG. The JAG looked at it and said under SCRA we were covered. Landlord backed down after lawyer was involved. Would also get the SQ/CC in the loop just to make sure you have his/her support if needed (like a phone call to the owners CC). Best of luck.

  7. My link Pilot ejected and is safe following a QF-4 crash near Hope, NM. The crash started a rapidly spreading grass fire that is currently 100 acres.
  8. It seems to vary. When I went through a little over a year ago it was a PCS for me. However, other guys in the class were there on TDY orders.

  12. Don't waste your free time trying to "get ahead". Enjoy the time you have before you get there and stay focused. I watched a lot of folks while I was there get wrapped up on going to Austin or the lake. Those were the folks that came in before a sim or a fight wanting to "barrow" the work of those that were working to get through the program. The only suggestions I would have is brush up on Base 60 math. Maybe find someone with a whiz-wheel and practice. There used to be a packet floating around that one of the -130 guys but together that covered everything on using the whiz-wheel. I'll look and PM it to you if I can find it in my stuff.
  13. Just remember to take your reflective belt when you get out. It may be worth something when you have to take that construction job.

As the rest of the bag wearers have said on this thread it is stupid and meaningless. If I walk into scheds and find out that another bro fell out for something and I have to take his line what am I supposed to do? Run home and change or maybe I can roll my bag up and stuff it in my gym bag with my "PT Gear" and reflective belt. We will comply with the policy. But we will do it the Ops way.

  19. So... Who is a shady operation? FedEx? This is a Kalitta 747, not FedEx. Back in the day when Connie was operating Dc-8s yes things were real shady! A bunch of us who worked for another DC-8 operator would drive up from Dayton to go make some extra $$ doing MX Checks for him... There was a lot of questionable stuff on those tails. However, after Connie sold the company and then eventually bought it back a few years later things had changed for the better. All the Dc-8s are gone and he is strictly flying 747s with much much better Mx. Not saying there aren't still a few questionable things.... but then again this is aviation and there are always things going on that are questionable.
