  1. Close to the "big red button". https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/wireStory/nuke-commander-suspended-amid-probe-20406208 See what you made me post.
  2. You may need to recalibrate your sarcasm meter. I consider the Benghazi rescue one of the best US effort ever and have posted such statements to that effect.
  3. I see Al Qaeda is at it again. It sounds like there were some American casualties and some of them are US embassy staff/family members. There is also a possibility of US hostages. I think we are going on 14 plus hours since this started with no end in sight. I wonder where the US fighter aircraft and rescue forces are. You would think we would of been able to get there much faster, take out the bad guys, and make a rescue by now. I know it took us FOREEVER to rescue the folks in Benghazi but you would think with the embassy just a few miles away it would not take 14 plus hours to get-it-done.

  5. Twist and turns in Syria continue, the fog is thick. Before this is all over we may end up having to bomb the rebels to ensure the security of the CW stockpiles. https://www.military.com/daily-news/2013/09/14/securing-syrias-weapons-may-require-us-troops.html?comp=7000023317828&rank=1 https://www.cnn.com/2013/09/14/politics/us-syria/index.html?hpt=hp_t1
  6. +1, Putin sure has a nice little homestead in Sochi. https://www.chinapost.com.tw/news/detail.asp?id=150672 https://www.businessinsider.com/putin-palace-black-sea-2011-2?op=1
  7. Putin has given one other Op-Ed to the NYTimes. There may be one thing that keeps Putin up at night and somewhere in these two Op-Eds is a common theme. https://www.nytimes.com/1999/11/14/opinion/why-we-must-act.html
  8. Well I see Putin's trying to give the POTUS a way out of this cluster ^(@#. You know the Russian's are not always wrong and may have a vested interest in securing/destroying the chemical stock pile in Syria. They recently did try to warn us about the two little Chechen angels in Boston but we blew it. One of the concerns that Russia may have is the Chechen/Al Qaeda connection and the upcoming 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi. Currently the second largest contingent of foreign rebel fighters in Syria are Chechen's, some are even rebel brigade commanders. Also, Sochi is located right next to Chechnya, Ingushestia, Pankisi Gorge, and a couple of other mountain/gorge Chechen strong holds. They almost are close enough to watch the action on the ski slopes with binos.
  9. New Poll: Majority of Americans Approve of Sending Congress to Syria: https://www.theonion.com/articles/poll-majority-of-americans-approve-of-sending-cong,33752/
  10. US policy on Syria should be; The enemy of my enemy is still my enemy; tactically and strategically.
  11. No way. I don't see the USAF represented in those photos, must be faked/staged.
  12. Today John Kerry stated: President Obama made a "Courageous Decision" to seek congressional approval on Syria. I think the President deserves a medal for this specific demonstration of courage in front of all Americans and the rest of the world. I can visualize the awards ceremony now. I imagine it will look something like when the Wizard of Oz presented the Cowardly Lion his Courage Medal and it will definitely complement his Nobel Peace Prize. Sorry no video clip of ceremony.
  13. Some detailed videos and info on this subject. See video "video shows Assad's Forces loading, firing, munitions linked to chemical attacks". You can draw your own conclusion but I think I see a couple future targets. https://brown-moses.blogspot.com/
  14. I made a mistake; Hell Cannon is used by Sunni rebels; HE warhead-yes / Chemical warhead-unknown. IRAM like the one in video with dead critters is used by government Shia militia (Hezbollah); HE warhead-yes / Chemical warhead-yes. All info is open source (Google).
  15. Its a version of what used to be called a Improvised Lob Bomb. The IRA used a similar system in Northern Ireland. The next generation of the Lob Bomb is called the Improvised Rocket Assisted Munitions (IRAM). The IRAM was used against us in Iraq but its roots can be traced back to between the two Iraq wars. The Shiites used the IRAMs against Saddam's forces. The version in your video is called the Syrian Hell Cannon and its being used current by both the Syrian rebels and Syrian government militias (primarily), Hezbollah. The good folks in Gaza have versions of all this crap.
  16. I wondered where all the pictures of the dead animals were and found this. Video of chemical weapon effects (looks like nerve agent) on animals/pets in Syria. Also, contains footage of spent chemical ordnance utilized. This video not suitable for children or PETA. https://www.liveleak.com/view?i=124_1377308617
  17. Latest; White House Team Briefs Congress: 'No doubt' on Syria chemical weapons'. The administration's 90-minute briefing on Syria for senior members of Congress was conducted by Secretary of State John Kerry, Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel, National Security Adviser Susan Rice and other high-ranking US officials. I am glad to see this team that briefed congress has folks on it that Americans trust. To all Americans Susan Rice, in particular, stands out as one of the most trusted administration officials. Also, it would be nice to know who's payroll is former CIA Director George "SLAM DUNK" Tenet on this time around?
  18. I don't know what the problem is with the British not getting on board. The U.S intelligence officials are saying that they have the goods on Assad and its a "SLAM DUNK" that his forces used chemical weapons.
  19. A short history of the region we now call Syria, as I understand it. 1. The Majority Sunni Muslims have dominated/ruled the region containing Syria, almost exclusively, since the founding of Islam; apx 1400 years. 2. In 1945 there were only 45 documented Alawite Shia living in Damascus. 3. The French and then British set the stage for the minority Alawite Shia to rise to power post WW1. 4. Assad's daddy took power in 1970. So out of 1400 plus years the minority Alawite Shia have been in power for only 43 years. 5. If history is any indicator of future events then the minority Alawites will be forced out of power shortly. The Sunnis will dominate once again and the Alawite Shia will join the other Syrian minorities (Druze, Christians, and Kurds) in Syrian obscurity once again. 6. Conclusion; The Rebel Sunnis are going to win hands down, Assad and his Shia boys are toast, even without our help.
  20. Interesting article. I will only speculate on Turkey since it was my home away from home for some time. There are over 500,000 (could be more now due to refugees) Alawite Twelvers in Turkey and they could be potential trouble. The vast majority of Alawites live in "ADANA" or on its door steps (Adana and Hatay province). There are also about 15 million Alevi Twelvers in Turkey but they are well dispersed and not closely affiliated with Syria or Assad.
  21. I believe the Arab League might think this particular piece of Israeli bait that's being served up may stink just a bit.
  22. The bulk of evidence proving the Assad regime's deployment of chemical weapons – which would provide legal grounds essential to justify any western military action – may have been provided by Israeli military intelligence, the German magazine Focus has reported. If this is anyway true it could be a credibility problem for justifying military strikes. https://www.chicagotribune.com/news/nationworld/la-fg-wn-syria-israel-intelligence-chemical-attack-20130827,0,3332576.story
  23. The U.S., British, and French will shortly announce the name of the pending Joint Operation against the Syrian government forces. There are no rumor of what this joint operation will be called at this time. Key administration official did release the name of the designated theme tune for this Joint Operation. The theme tune that was selected is; The Three Stooges, which according to key administration officials is both patriotic and historical. The same officials cautioned older Americans and children to not confuse the Three Stooges theme tune with the Three Blind Mice tune. The Three Blind Mice tune was determined to be unpatriotic and it also has connections to Islamic fundamentalism that can be traced back over a millennium.
  24. I am starting to get that sinking ROPE-A-DOPE feeling, AGAIN. I have lost track of what ROPE-A-DOPE round the U.S. is now in but the pending Rumble in the Syrian Arab Republic looks like it may be fixing to start in some form. Some recent U.S. ROPE-A-DOPE rounds in the Islamic world; Beirut, Somalia, Afghanistan War, Iraq War, Libya TBD, Egypt TBD, Syria TBD.
  25. So if its proven that the rebels conducted this chemical attack then I would conclude that our good buddies Al Qaeda and their affiliates now have lethal chemical weapons (WMD's). Now that can't be good for the homeland or our interest internationally.
