Man, this idiot doesn’t know crap!

I was saying the same thing sitting in the vault for the Al-Assad attack.  "no way they do it" 🙂 Never again

  2. I can think of a thousand random courses that the Air Force makes guys go to that are worthless.  If a guy/gal thinks they can get through it, I can't think of a better use of time/money for someone who is motivated and wants to do it.  It's the military after all regarldess of service.

Spent some time up at Dahlonega working spin up with some teams.  Stayed in the cadre dorms and hung out at the instructor bar there.  Was a great time.  One of the school candidates asked us at chow one morning if we could go find a replacement leatherman for him as he lost it and was going to be in a world of hurt.  Said he'd pay us $50 for our trouble 🙂 Quick trip downtown one night and got him his $13 leatherman.  Hopefully he made it through.

  3. We've come a long ways from having to get permission from PA and inform MOCC of being out on flightline taking pictures of aircraft to now EVERY person on base can pretty much do it with impunity.

Good point. DoS officials should be checking with the Twitter Feed Verification Department before making such wild claims.

Hah.  Sure.  It's pretty heavily documented by open source imagery.  Where do you think they are magically getting all this modern equipment?  There couldn't possibly be any motive for saying Russia is at the same state they were pre-war?

Lots of interesting Big Safari history out there but one of my favorites is "Poobah's Party" from Gulf War 1. Took a bunch of retired Army short range nuclear cruise missile type done things and modified them to basically be a bunch of MALD. They got the Iraqi IADS (KARI) to illuminate and were subsequently schwacked by the good guy SEAD players. Pretty awesome story.

    Great reads

    Wait a sec. WTF?

Kurt Campbell, US Deputy Secretary of State says Russia has completely reconstituted its military.

We spend over a hundred billion dollars to weaken the Russian military, and this dude says it has had no effect.

    Starts at 29:50

Needs a big more in depth review.  Lots of twitter feeds showing the 'reconstitution' involves bottom of the barrel conscripts and mechanized units turned in to rifle units.  A lot of the mechanized units are being backfilled not with armor but with light utility vehicles.

Guilty pleasure fun, but I enjoyed the new Roadhouse.  Admittedly I felt the original was terrible, yeah I know it’s legendary for some reason but could not figure out why, it was soooo bad!  Anyway this new one was fun.

Jesus.  OG Roadhouse was good because we didn't know any better.  New one is garbage.

One would still have to go through a C&P with a medical provider of the VAs and rated by the VA. No one gets a rating without VA oversight. Now if the C&P examiner pencil whips the exam or the rater doesn’t do their job, that’s on the VA.

I went through a company for a couple upgrades of 0% and the company specifically mentioned do not go to the VA C&P exams, I believe it was separate.

Is there an option if you geo-Bach to keep the BAH at your old spot where your family stays? E.G. I get orders to Laughlin but family stays in Denver, can we keep the Denver BAH?

Possible but requires waiver.  Default is you get BAH where your orders state.  Gotta show hardship (family school, etc)

  10. I lucked out without really knowing it.  Over the course of my career I went to the doc many times complaining of macular/skeletal issues but never did anything to really fix it after talking with flight doc.  All that documentation really helped versus not having anything on record and trying to claim legitimate issues.  You can go to the flight doc and state xyz is hurting but getting MRI/X-rays and what not can be avoided.  In my experience.

  11. I had a bunch of deferrements.  No follow on appts, they just forwarded my records to the proper specialist needed and they gave rating after that review.  It was a few months after my initial rating.  For flyers its def a catch 22, needs to be documented to show a history of it but if you do, you probably aren't flying anymore depending on the issue.

I’m not a historian, so I don’t know the finer details when it comes to 200+ years of our national elections, but I would agree that there is always some level of voter fraud, that by definition I suppose qualifies as cheating.  But I’m referring to something of the scale of 2020 when those in the federal government outright worked directly with big tech/the media to silence the legitimately of the Hunter laptop story in order to help Biden.  I think this definitely could have effected the election results on a national scale.

I assumed you were referencing actual vote manipulation.  I withdraw my objection your honor.

Not sure if I follow your post—are you saying there’s always been lying and cheating (on a scale that can change the outcome of a national election) since the country’s existence began?

    You don't think there has?

Edit:  I disagree with the level of changing an outcome though.

I’m a simple Midwesterner and don’t know much about your fancy Northeast liberal cities, but how big of a deal is that bridge coming down?

    Pretty damn significant

    https://thedailyrecord.com/2024/03/26/bridge-collapse-likely-to-have-profound-impact-on-port-of-baltimore-operations/

The bridge was the only way for hazardous materials to get in and out of the city from what i've read also.  Not allowed in the tunnels.

There was a pilot who ended up behind actual bars and then kicked out for falsely claiming BAH for his wife while he was in Korea.  Don't remember the exact details, but something along the lines of she moved back to her parents house in a small town but claimed a NYC or SFO zip code.

Happens multiple times a year in some fashion.

Didn’t we lose or damage an F-22 because of TOLD? Story I remember is they were using numbers for sea level when it was actually in a high PA environment. Something like that.

    https://www.airforcetimes.com/news/your-air-force/2018/11/19/investigation-pilot-error-incorrect-data-caused-f-22-to-crash-skid-on-takeoff/

    Quote

An F-22A Raptor crashed and skidded on its belly during a botched takeoff in Nevada in April because its pilot was using the wrong takeoff data and prematurely retracted his landing gear, according to an Air Force investigation.

The accident investigation board report, which was posted online Thursday, concluded that pilot error was to blame for the April 13 crash at Naval Air Station Fallon. The pilot was unharmed in the mishap.

Much less involved than other communities. Usually go to the ops desk and write down your speeds and bug those IAW v3 guidance. There are calculators and such but in terms of mission planning, it’s not a big part of it.

W&B is even less of a thought. You’ll only fly in approved stores load outs that are good so that’s not much of a thought either.

My data is old but I very much doubt that’s changed in the last few years.

    Thanks. What i needed.
