  1. Yeah I just saw that on JQP's facebook page. Awesome. Really awesome. I'm a week and a half away from separating and I'd been told over and over again that I would be covered under TAMP and have base access for 2 years and blah, blah, blah... I should've known the USAF would get that last good jab in before it was all said and done. They always do...
  2. So I was one of those that applied for VSP when it was first offered, but was then tagged with a deployment as AFPC blew past deadline after deadline. I ended up getting approved for VSP with my original DOS (which would've required me to return early to make) while at my deployed location and my commander here and at my home-station unit pushed to have me come back early. I had separation orders in hand, a scheduled flight out of here, a CADR was submitted and my replacement would've been here a week from today, but AFPC was kind enough to send me an email yesterday saying they extended my DOS to the end of this year and that they told my leadership to turn off sending me home and sending my replacement out here. Awesome. It's getting harder and harder to care about an organization that obviously doesn't care about me.
  3. I'll give it a go. Hopefully this post is pretty succinct. There's a lot of stuff I don't like/agree with about our USAF, but in reality I'm mainly getting out for two reasons: 1) I'm not the type of person that likes to stagnate in life, but if there was one word that I could use to describe my USAF "career", it would in fact be "stagnation". I can't honestly look at myself in the mirror and say that I'm okay with my sub-mediocre career and let the next 13 years of my life be wasted just to make it to retirement. 2) I want control of my life again. My biggest takeaway from my time in the military is that our time on this planet is in fact limited and it is precious, so don't waste it. As much as I actually am running for the exit, I am proud to have been a part of the operational arm of this organization and thankful that I was able to make direct contributions to some of the biggest events in our time... but I am definitely looking forward to the next chapter of my life.
  4. Does anyone know if the Career Data Brief page pulls its info from MILPDS? I'm now showing a DOS on CDB, but nowhere else. If CDB does pull from MILPDS, I want to do that initial separations brief ASAP to get the ball rolling to get orders.
  5. '08 12S APPROVED! 9 months UFT ADSC waived 10 months TA ADSC waived No change in CMS or CDB for me yet. Congrats to those approved today and good luck to those still waiting!
  6. So this is the realization that I woke up to today: If I was approved for VSP during either of AFPC's first two deadlines (you know, that whole monthly batch lie) and had I not been tasked with a deployment in the mean time due to not knowing the fate of my application, my terminal leave would have started today. :(
  7. Haha, yeah some people I work with were pissed when they found out, but I'm actually pretty excited. I now have 3 chances to escape and definitely plan on going the "Do Not Retain Me" letter route with the RIF board. If I somehow f*ck this up, I have much bigger problems!
  8. Just found out that I'm RIF eligible as well. This ought to be fun when they disapprove VSP for a bunch of us and then turn around and RIF us...
  9. Here's hoping there's some actual movement with VSP approvals/disapprovals today...
  10. Midnight CDT! I'm guessing the window is now officially closed... good luck to all VSP'ers who are still waiting to hear word on their applications!
  11. Is it closed or does it close at 2359:59 (central time I would imagine) on 1 May? If it is indeed closed, it looks like I'll be back to refreshing email and vMPF every 5 minutes.
  12. I'm pretty sure they're going by TAFCSD so you'd have been considered an '09
  13. This is the one question I wish one of our managers would answer. Not surprised. Waiting for the next 8 days to go by is going to be painful.
  14. They seem to send out a few Friday approvals every week. I wonder if they'll do that again today or if they really will just save them all until 1 May.
  15. Are you applying for TERA or VSP? EDIT: I got antsy and called the TFSC to see where exactly my application was and I was able to confirm my application is indeed at the last stop before approval/disapproval (AFPC OFF Voluntary Separation Pay), but the technician said the only thing it said was "pending" and that she didn't know if I'd hear anything about it before 1 May.
  16. "Members who are deployed or projected for deployment, as long as they meet all other eligibility criteria, may apply for VSP and if approved the requested DOS will be NET 30 days and NLT four months from the return date from the deployment." The deployment I got tagged with AFTER I applied for VSP almost f*cked me.
  17. Are you saying that if an applicant has this status and their AFSC/year still needs people cut, that AFPC has already pre-approved them?
  18. So does that mean that only applicants with ADSCs that were pointed out in PSDM 13-65 as not being waiverable won't find out until after 1 May? Or that anyone requiring a waiver, even those that the table in PSDM 13-65 said were waiverable, won't find out until after 1 May? I would really like to know before May seeing as how if I were approved my terminal leave would start in the middle of the month and my squadron managers, in their infinite wisdom, decided to tag me for a USAF desert summer camp trip during this whole debacle...

  20. Deny, deny, deny, counter-accuse, deny. The USAF way.
  21. This is what CMS shows for me now too. When I go through vMPF, self-service actions, separations and "view my application" though it still says "Referred to BPO".
  22. Dubs

    Mustache March

Rapid growth and still growing. Queep was brought in from the outside...
  23. Even though this sh*t should be spelled out enough for me to not have to ask this question... I'm going to have to ask it. Now when they apparently say flying ADSCs aren't waived in the PSDM 13-65 Waiverable ADSCs table, the note in their only pretained to pilots (undergraduate pilot training and advanced pilot training). Does that mean Navs/CSOs and ABMs are still good to apply? I've already applied and my application is sitting at BPO, but I just want to mentally prepare myself if the thing is going to get sent back to me...
