  1. Huge win for non-rated Weapons Officers reagrding ABUs. It's about time. The Weapons Instuctor Course Graduate Patch and/or USAF Test Pilot School Patch (graduate or instructor) may also be worn on the pocket of the ABU. Wear only regular size embroidered cloth badges or specialty insignia. Metal pin- on type qualification badges are not authorized for wear on the ABU.
  2. Submitted 9 July and received email yesterday stating there were 13 apps ahead and mine should be built Monday. He was furloughed today.
  3. Any good sources to confirm the eligibility for all pilots or just the earlier mentioned F, S, and H.
  4. I would say that depends on the college you select. AMU only gave me 6 credits.
  5. So a B-1 can hit 84 DMPIs with 84 unguided weapons? Technically I think you're wrong. So what about the B-2 carrying 80 GBU-38s? That is 80 individual DMPIs so I suppose that drives the cost down right.
  6. Most airports will allow you to go through the 1st class line too. Obviously nothing changes with the screening procedures but at least the lines are normally much shorter.
  7. The only one I know of came out several months ago (AFI91-207 dated 27 Oct 11) but really doesn't have any major changes. It clarifies the safety courses and encourages sportbike riders to attend a sportbike course. You may hear rumors that this is mandatory but it's not stated that way in this regulation. I suppose a base can be more restrictive though. The biggest change is that all riders must be entered into the Motorcycle Unit Safety Tracking Tool (MUSTT) database.
  8. He had his Masters while he was enlisted and 2 years prior to OTS.
  9. Yes the mission has evolved. Were your buds in Iraq? If so, totally different mission and wasn't much going on.
  10. It's a comm node, really? If they have another mission, then good on them.
  11. 1: yielding or likely to yield a reward : valuable, satisfying We were a valuable asset to the guys on the ground and were involved in multiple instances where our team made the difference to either the capture or killing of the dirkas. My tour was satisfying. Maybe others flying fighters or a bomber that is actively involved would not find it as rewarding.
  12. I personally believe the MC-12 would be more rewarding plus I still got almost 700 hrs in about 7 months.
  13. Another crash occurred in the Kansas City airshow today too. http://youtu.be/_vKEyoVxCdw
  14. I get paid for the weight of the trailer too and the bike itself is about 750. Combined with stuff in the bed of the truck it was almost 3000 lbs.
  15. I don't think there is a limit on a partial dity unless it's changed in the past few years. As far as I know you can take as much as you want. I have done this several times with my motorcycle and trailer and it's always been a few thousand lbs.
  16. Heck with driving a Budget truck across the states, just use www.upack.com and they will drop off an ABF trailer at your house. You pay by linear feet not weight and they will haul it to wherever you PCS too. You have 3 days to load not including drop off day or weekends and 3 days to unload.
  17. I've always used State Farm for my sportbike (ZX-14) because they don't care about type of bike, just the cc's. I had full coverage for 35-40/month. However I now have a Yamaha Raider 1900 and it was expensive thru them due to the engine size so I now use Geico which was cheaper than Progressive.
  18. I used cash everywhere, never got the Eagle card while I was there for 200+ days. There were ATMs and they did not charge a fee.

Just picked up a new XDM 9 for $520. SA also had a deal online where if purchased by Dec 31st then you get 3 free mags and another mag holder. I've only shot about 70 rounds so far and it's pretty sweet. Now just have to get some accessories!
  20. Just focus on learning the plane especially the FMS and autopilot during IQT. You'll have plenty of time to self study during MQT and there are more and more IP's (Active Duty) showing up at Meridian that have experience in both theaters. As far as I know they are still asking for permanent party to start standing up the squadron but not making you stay.
  21. The last board last spring was also opened to heavies. T-1 studs are still not able to get it out of UPT but later down the road can be picked up. Unsure how much longer this will last but it went on for several years then was closed for a few.
  22. Yeah that's where I screwed up. I showed up at IQT without my written hoping to get it knocked out there but they needed the paperwork by day 3. I'm curious if I can just go back after my deployment and take the checkride or a refresher course.
  23. I've ridden one once and it was ok but I've always been a Kawasaki man. If you're looking at big bikes then check out the ZX-14. She's a sweet ride and I think you would be happy with one. I owned one for a few years and took several road trips including several to the Dragon. For as big as she is, she handles like a dream. I could keep up with the liter bikes with no problem. Just a suggestion.
