A US produced BE200 like jet would probably fit into op plans for INDOPACOM for transport, tanker, ISR, stand off strike, SOF support, etc…

The USAF wastes money in any number of frivolous ways, even at say $100k a student in total costs for a 4 month multi program (civ plus a type program) and with a 1500 per year going thru, that’s only 150 million a year, the AF could afford that, own no new iron, divest infrastructure, not have to man any AF billets to fly this training iron and get a better product

At this point (phase 3) you’re starting to refine and shape the product, allow for greater responsibility and lay the foundation for a future aircraft commander who can lead a crew, handle change, manage priorities and execute the mission.
You only get that in the training environment of actually flying an aircraft in the real world with all its variables.
Comment not directed at you but the GOs, SESs, CODELs and policy makers lurking here for ideas on what the AF should be doing.-

Cost and risk, Navy already has gotten the aircraft delivered to meet mil training requirements and has costs for support already worked out so the AF could piggyback off that.
Any new acquisition program would take years before anything would get decided let alone delivered, methinks this would be the VFR direct solution

At this point anything that is flight time for guys going multi eng heavy would be fine but if the Navy can find the resources (granted fewer pilots to train for their heavy community) the USAF can too
USAF buys 120, send studs to a civ multi course after T-6s, then to Flight Safety for a type course or AF written syllabus, then a flight syllabus in the T-54 to teach Air Mobility basics (air mob mission planning, transport aircraft form, simulated air refueling & delivery, NVGs, etc…
Syllabus NOT focused primarily on repetitive basic sorties but heavy military airmanship, reasonable length, shooting for stud grad / winging 3+ months from start.
3 bases, east-central-west, near major airports / airline domiciles to develop operational experience and entice Reservist support

I would say that I'm Ukraine War continuation skeptical but not opposed exactly, they passed the "funding" bill but as a skeptic I would be less skeptical, cynical and maybe supportive if they passed a funding vehicle (bureacracy speak phrase for tax increase or creation) to pay for this appropriation

So as I know there are CODEL staffers lurking on this thread /s… the IRS says there were 161 million income tax filings, divide that into 60 billion, that’s about $373 per filer, propose an amendment or stand alone bill to 2023 income tax filings and collect the money, not holding breath but that would go long way to burnishing your credentials and supposed commitment to the LIO and love of it

Trump tripled the reported square footage of properties specifically to inflate his net worth in order to get loans, and then reported the actual smaller square footage on tax documents. Square footage is an empirical measurement and you can't just lie about the size of your property when it's convenient for you. That's called fraud.
If any of us sold our houses right now, we'd likely list it far above its tax assessed value. That doesn't make any of us fraudsters. But you would be a fraudster if you had a 3000 sq/ft house and then went to a bank and got a loan predicated on reporting a 9000 sq/ft as collateral.
None of his creditors were defrauded, all were compensated at their contractual terms and none filed a complaint following their transactions
This is a bullshit selective investigation and prosecution while that which is obvious to any normal functioning human goes unpunished and is evidence that the Republic as we think of it is over, it’s something else now, I’m not claiming it’s a dictatorship or something but it’s a system ruled by men partially dependent on who you are and selectively interpreted laws, rules and policy now
You could say that was the way it was when discrimination was legal and morally acceptable and you would have a point but it doesn’t change the fact that it is getting worse, driving the division that probably can’t be fixed and will lead to a change in the Republic eventually
No idea if that change will be better or worse, obviously I hope for the better

Therefore you have to / should constantly right size their power
Nothing that curtails basic freedom or acts in some ways against the aspiration of the constitution should be allowed a guarantee continuous existence. Every power beyond the basics should be sunsetted or explicitly renewed
