  1. The ol "guard waiver." Lucky. AFRC hasnt said anything like that yet.
  2. More guidance. Link to actual memo at bottom of article. https://www.defense.gov/News/News-Releases/News-Release-View/Article/1068676/department-of-defense-announces-guidance-on-implementation-of-civilian-workforc Looks like the dual status jobs, mil-civ arts, are waiting on a case by case approval.
  3. Pretty much this. On base is nice if you are married, on base sucks bad if you aren't and are used to freedom. On base in the dorms do bs room inspections and threatened to CR folks if they leave the coffee pot plugged in twice in a row or some similar crap. Off base, stay on the North side of town. South end is kinda dirty. All in all though, Vance is a great little base. I liked it. There is a nice archery range east of town you can get signed up for at Bills and there is an indoor archery range near the base as well, although indoor is pricey. Mama Titas for mexican, Jumbo for sushi, Waukomis for Coffee, the artisan pizza joint downtown, and Turkey Creek for BBQ. Callaghans is ok, but gets old after a while.

Anybody here shoot high power or have an interest in the old M1, M1 Caribine, and M14 platforms? I am a fan. I have yet to shoot high power, but would if the opportunity comes up.
  5. Great man. As an total newbie to the community... that man is motivational to me. God Bless America. Godspeed, Sir.
  6. You know... I am nobody. I am merely a pre-OTS USAFR know nothing. However, I will say that this is one of the most respectful first posts I've read in months. I don't have anything pertinent to ROTC to add, but I hope AFROTC goes well for you! Good luck!
  7. Iran released photos of their drones new paint jobs eh?
  8. This was entertaining. Seems to happen every few months on here, but I don't recall someone so brash before. Come on art, give it the old junior college try. You really don't know who you are speaking to here... Even if some know each other quite well. Flying is a small community don't ya know?
  9. I had heard the Dos Gringos, him, him,###### him what a way to go But at least Hes not jamming up the radio! I wasn't sure if it came from something or someone specific and historical... Or was just folk song based.
  10. I will even buy you a beer. I did the search to no success, but this is always something I've wondered. Anybody know the story (or even a tall tale) about the origin of "him! him!" when somebody kicks it?

AR15.com is a wealth of knowledge... Both in the archives and just in asking questions... They aren't hard on newbies asking questions. Theres few things the gun nuts there like more than talking about guns to others. The EE (Equipment Exchange) can be a place for good deals or hard to find parts, but lately the prices are pretty high there too. They take welchers and scammers pretty seriously, but if you deal with guys with high feedback, high post counts and a paid team membership you will likely end up just fine. I've been on there for a decade, and have never been scammed... And yes, there are a lot of crazy folks on there. But just stay out of General Discussion and in the tech forums and you will be fine.

I was in the same group. I got my results a couple weeks ago. No waivers.
  13. I was looking for the Bat Bird in that video... I didn't see it. But, Godspeed, Sir... May there always be hubcaps to steal! Your life and your work has affected a lot of folks in a good way (a few N. Vietnamese notwithstanding!).

Glocks are good... Though depending on the coin one wants to spend an HK45 or shopping around online for a used USP might be something else to consider.

So, there is a movement for Sheriffs and many citizens to say "I will not comply" with non constitutional anti 2A law. What are the likely ramifications for active/guard/reserve folks that have made that claim?
