  1. I have, but those were only on days where we had sorties longer than the box nastys were good for....pretty much all of 'em in a BUFF. That netted me an extra $160 over 180 days TDY.

An F-22 squadron had EVERYONE (including maintainers) file all their missed meal forms en masse and ACC f**king approved for the exception clause which basically gives them off base per diem instead of processing 16000 individual missed meal vouchers: In Guam that's about 100 bucks a DAY (on a 120-180 day TDY!!!!) extra PLUS you could still eat at the chow hall!

Now I don't want that airman to have to pay it back if/when Finance comes a knockin' but that's pretty shitty for THOSE maintainers to tell OUR maintainers "We're getting a $12K bonus when we get home! How about you?"

"Oh...we get to go to Minot"

There's nothing I hate more than somebody else getting a good deal.

  2. I submitted 5 files that were just .jpeg files renamed to "Czecksikhs essay 1-5.doc" for my capstone class. I was just hoping for an extension by making the professor think the files were corrupted, but got all A's. The professor even commented on my "insightful discussion of the topic."

This makes me want to quit ERAU and switch to TUIIUIUIUI. Not that ERAU has been a real brain buster...

  3. because landing the plane shouldn't be the most difficult or dangerous part of the sortie.

Wait. I thought landing on an aircraft carrier was the most heroic feat of aviation prowess ever devised.

  5. Simple answer: Get the folks that make TurboTax, TaxCut, etc. to make the replacement. These guys can make software that makes doing taxes relatively easy (I've never heard anyone under the age of 80 say they'd prefer to do taxes on paper), they can keep up with the constantly changing tax code, they can make the software so cheaply that they can give away for free, and they can make it interface with the federal system that puts $'s into my bank account.

Heck, we could even get 2 or 3 of them to do it, and give them a cut off the backend. You choose which of the systems you want to use, that developer gets paid a percentage of your voucher (not out of your payment though). The more people use it the more they get paid.

Good point. You know your software really sucks when young dudes would rather put pencil to paper.

  6. i just visualized, not you, but a hot chick; pooping in a bag while double-clicking her mouse punching me in the face and nailing my wife, all right next to the af chick breast feeding her trike-motor.

    seems natural..

Is the hot chick pooping, double clicking, punching, and nailing your wife all at the same time? Who's got that kind of coordination?
  7. Interested to hear your thoughts on the Glock 19. Gen 3 or Gen 4? I used to have one several years ago but sold it. I still have the Glock 17 I mentioned a while back in addition to a Glock 26.

I got a used Gen 3, 2005 manufacture. I haven't shot it yet but I'll report back. It's nice and compact but my pinky fits on the grip.

Did your sights just start to move around or the barrel take a dump?

This VTAC thing has the crazy/awesome sights so that should be a leg up.

Yea, I want APEX parts baaad.

I've got the JG model with the Warren Tactical sights. They aren't the problem. I've read a bunch about the unlocking timing on the barrel affecting accuracy, but honestly I don't shoot all that often at 25 yards and out so it wasn't really an issue. Then I went to a class with Kyle Defoor who is big on 25 yard pistol shooting and was really having some issues with really random, large groups. I didn't want to be the guy to blame the gun, but I was getting a little discouraged so I borrowed another guy's Glock and my groups tightened right back up. Then Kyle shot my gun and it was still all over the place, so I'm pretty sure it's the barrel.

I also had a lot of problems with light primer strikes, but I finally solved that with an updated striker assembly. My gun is an '08, so you shouldn't have a problem with that. I also put in the new sear housing block, but again, no factor for you.

I initally installed the Apex hard sear and the USB which improved the trigger quite a bit. I got the forward set sear when it came out and it's fucking ridiculous. The closest thing to a 1911 trigger pull you'll ever find on a striker fired pistol. I probably wouldn't carry it, but I've got no problems with it around the house.

Even though I've worked through my share of issues I'm still a fan of the M&P. I've got too much invested to give up now so I'm definitely going to change out the barrel. I'm also looking for a new rear sight to aid in one handed manipulations. The slant on the Warrens makes it almost impossible to cycle the slide by hooking on a holster/belt etc.

All that being said I just bought a Glock 19.

New Frontier POLYMER lower. Should be less that 1.6lbs total. I need to get my hands on a real scale to to be sure. It's light as all damn hell that's for sure. Start of my Ultra Lightweight AR build.

Nothing special. Spikes lower, PRS stock, KAC Stage 2 trigger. Start of my Mk12 Mod0 clone build.

SW M&P9 VTAC. Range report this weekend. 1

Shoot the m&p out at 25 yards and get a baseline for accuracy. I felt like mine went to shit after a couple thousand rounds. Looking forward to the gunsmith fit barrel from G&R/Storm Lake.

Highest recommendation for the Apex parts, as well.

  10. Since we're talking about the value of sweaties, how much is one worth?

Appears to be $12,400 ($100,000 combat related) Death Gratuity + $400,000 SGLI +

55 percent of the retired pay to which the member would have been entitled based upon years of active service if retired on the date of death (if the member was retirement-eligible).

  11. Reminds of the Captain having an arguement at the layover hotel in front of the crew bus one morning in Rio. The professional young lady is attempting to make him pay up. He ignores her and gets on the bus, thinking she won't follow.

    She does.

    She's screaming now:

"You came in my mouth and fucked me up the ass, now give me my money!"

A classic moment in the anals of airline history. The whole crew witnessed it. I wish I could have had T-shirts made.

Just for reference, how much money are we talking here?
