  1. Huh? I paid .99. Maybe you paid your willing buck more in taxes, thanks! I'll keep my money. JK, great game.
  2. Do your PME and masters, ain't gonna hurt when you get out at 10 getting a job, especially non-flying. I agree with the rest above.

  4. Your functional is probably the best person to ask. When I went through everything I'd ask everybody these questions at AFPC, and caveat my questions with I just wan't to know my options. Also tell him you wan't around the 7 day option until they get you the correct answer, they can do that in house or with an exception to policy letter.
  5. You're going to get a PCS commitment no matter how you slice it. There is a nuclear option if your willing to take it with reference to a training commitment. Wait until you get your RIP, page 2 or 3 has the PCS commitment on there as well as a training commitment, the PCS (conus-conus) will be 2 years. Now, the training commitment MIGHT say 0 if this would take you past you UPT ADSC. In this case, you can sign it, take the assignment and continue on your merry way. Make 1.2 million copies and gold plate it, do not sign another commitment document and carry the RIP with you, use it as proof or documentation that you and your SQ/CC signed a document showing no further commitment. Its nuclear cause the AF can F you in the A, but you'd have a he'll of an IG complaint.
  6. I know a few (non-current) 11F's get approved in the last 2 years or so, this is what they tell me. The PC people want 60 days to process your application, which they will lose a couple of times around the office. You probably want an extra 30 days after the 60 to out-process. The way I've seen it work, is 90 days from when you want out, submit your package (this is a minimum). Take your ADSC, back it up 6 months, then back it up another 90 days and that is the day your application should be submitted through vMPF. These are minimum times that I have seen work, you might have to dig into the reg to see how far out you can apply, might wan't to try that, I haven't heard good things about the process. Talk to your SQ/CC before you do it, he will get an email the moment you submit. It also helps (almost required) to have an intent to hire letter from Reserve/Guard unit. I've also heard letters of recommendation are helpful. Oh yeah, your WG/CC needs to sign off on it as well, good luck with jobs/strats/awards after the package is submitted. I had it worked at my base so I only had 1 OPR left when my intentions were realized, still got a school push, but I was ranked...oh wait, I wasn't. The moment I got approved to get out, I became a line IP with no job....kind of a good deal for 3 months. But what do I know, I'm a non-current 11F3H (about to be recurrent ) that got approved for VSP 4 months ago, who woulda thunk it?
  7. Yes you can. Just make sure you do it in vMPF as well or they won't consider you 7 day opted. They have a few options for you if you do that (which you dont decided BTW); stay at you current base, move you anyway and no ADSC.
  8. You dont have to sign anything that takes you past your ADSC, I think the AFI is pretty clear.
  9. And medical? Alot of my bro's say BC/BS is the way to go, I'm starting to learn more about HSA's (Health Savings Account). Anyone have experience with both? I am doing my reading, just taking a poll.
  10. I heard the Hornet rumor a year or so ago as well.
  11. Dude, you need to look up Dave Ramsey and his opinion of whole life, I think you are getting F'd in the A.
  12. The best I EVER heard was 6 months, straight from AFPC's mouth. For pilots that is.
  13. I'd be the first to put something "special" in the bird food, birds are terrible gifts.
  14. Don't buy at the bottom of the market (or maybe near the bottom)? Should we all buy at the top?

  22. And how are you getting out with 6 years of time? RIF? Something about chickens hatching should go here.
  23. Naa Rain, my package says if I'm a title 10 for longer than 6 months they "can" start recouping the 6 figures they are giving me, good luck, left hand talking to the right. I expect them to take it back in retirement, maybe not, but I am prepared for an interest free loan. Luckily, state guad is title 32, I'll ask the pay folks at my ANG unit if I have any special codes or whatever attached to my pay. I'll pay it back if I have too. That being said, anyone read the latest airforcecrimes rag, looks like (at best) the part timers and active duty are matching retirement.
  24. The one thing I liked at DLF was seeing the herbs to a flyup while we were perfectly legal in the MARSA pattern next door, clowns.
