I just spit my vodka tonic all over my iPad. Hey, are reservists eligible? I came on here to figure out how to resign my commission, but this has piqued my interest...

Whatever the outcome of this meeting between Airline management and your Air Force leadership, the one fact is it will not be in your best interest. There is only one group on the earth that hates you more than your Air Force leadership...it's the shoe clerks in Airline management.

Thanks for the feedback on this and you actually answered my biggest question. I came into my career field from another branch of service so going into my Lt Col BPZ board, I have great Maj strats as follows...#1/60 Majs, #1/32 O-4s, #5/340 Wg O-4s, and #1/343 Wg O-4s on my push line. I'm competing with folks who have a stronger CGO record, but not as strong FGO wise. An example is #1/25 CGOs, #1/30 CGOs, #1/28 CGOs, #4/46 Majs.
Build a thousand bridges...

I definitely agree with you there. If you're getting a "hot tip" you're the sucker at the table. However I do believe if you are willing to put in the effort to research individual names and situations you can do better than the market over time. It requires a significant amount of effort to do so and is something you really need to have a personal interest in to commit the amount of time necessary to be successful.
The numbers just don't back up your claim. While you may get lucky a year or two, the vast, vast majority of professional investors and fund managers who actively trade do not beat the market in the long run. These are the guys that have unlimited resources, analysts, and prob insider information.

Buying individual stocks because you heard from your neighbors cousin that you can't lose is the rigged game. Might as well just go to Vegas...at least you'll get free drinks. I own the entire stock market (admittedly, weighted slightly toward small caps) and I sleep well at night.

Read "A Random Walk Down Wall Street" and you'll realize it's a rigged game. By the time you find the next great stock, most likely it's past it's prime.

Airline IT is stuck in the late 70s/early 80s. After being at AA for almost 3 years, I can say without a doubt the only reason this shit show doesn't implode is because of the Capt and FO. These companies are not going to outlay the capital to make any improvements which would allow single pilot or autonomous. Possible in a Utopia...sure. Just not in this fucking world.

What's your take on Norwegian Air International's flag of convenience scheme?

Airline life is like a stripper. Once to get your hands on her and see how nice she feels, you'll never be able to go back to your ugly, fat bitch wife. Sure, the stripper isn't perfect by any means...but it's oh so much better than your previous witch...

3rd year NB FO. Worked 88 days this year and flew 559 hours. I grossed $169k. Good luck Air Force!

Why wouldn't you want a CSO? Or have you only flown simple missions where a single human could handle the workload?
Serious?

No it isn't. The EU will make a show of telling off the UK, realize that 17% of Europe's economy walking out the door is a bad thing and then invite them to take a deal similar to Norway's. The UK will then gladly accept that deal.
I give it 10 years. Sooner if the Russians keep mettling.

So, I was off this past Saturday. Scheduling called me to ask if I could help them out with a DFW turn. I didn't have anything to do, so I took the trip. I made $2k to fly 6 hours...on top of my Reserve guarantee for the month. Plus, they gave me two more days off later this month.
To those who decide to stay in...you are being underpaid for your services.

This is going to be comical to watch. The view of those like Chang will truly be the downfall of the Air Force. Once the true volunteer aspect leaves with stop-loss or indentured servitude type contracts, the train will come off the tracks.
As a red blooded, combat proven American, there's one thing I value more than anything. That's freedom to do what the I want with my life. I gave 13 years of my life to the defense of my nation. I am proud of that, but the moment I felt that was being taken for granted, I stopped playing the game and took my ball elsewhere.
My advice to anyone on the fence is to start getting your plan together yesterday. If there is stop-loss, go back to your SERE days of using passive resistance. If I was stop-loss'd, I'd stop doing every single additional duty and focus 100% on flying. I'd call out sick at least once a week. I'd fail every single PT test. Hell, I'd find a way to go DNIF without messing up my airline prospects.
I hope it doesn't come to what Chang is proposing, but realize your Sr Leadership, both in Congress and in the Pentagon may have just become your enemy.
I thank God every day I was able to get out when I did. I landed on my feet and I know you guys will too.

Gotcha. I can't remember if we did a flight control check in the Hog after hot pitting.
Well that was nice while it lasted
