  1. That's the key right there. Good intel is how we're going to bring the shoe clerks' world crashing down around them. However, getting that intel requires actually going to CGOC meetings and avoiding putting a pencil through your left eye. That's a serious grenade to jump on. HD
  2. Ugh. Does every celebrity that dies deserve nationwide rememberance? I don't mean to be cruel, but who cares about Michael Jackson? Seriously, he was popular as a joke longer than he was as a singer. Not to mention, he was just a star child who ended up being a sick pedophile. Call me crazy, but I think congress could do better things with a moment of their time than remember Michael Jackson. HD
  3. Well done. Now if we could get all operators across the globe to do this at every TIB show, we might have a chance. I was lucky enough to see one USO show while over in the sand. It was awesome, entertaining with John Popper playing music and Patriots cheerleaders showing the goods. The Brits did even better when they brought strippers and dirty comedians. TIB sucks. TIB performers, both past and present, are loads that their mothers should have swallowed. HD
  4. I've seen plenty of students get reinstated. The CR isn't always guaranteed kill, but your chances or reinstatement depend on your ability, attitude, and if there is some sort of inconsistency in your training. I've seen students go to CRs where I was sure they would get reinstated and they ended up getting shit canned and vice versa. It really depends on who the Wing King is. With that said. Students need to be smart on their CR. "Laywering Up" is a dangerous technique. He should definitely list anything that feels put him at a disadvantage in training. But some students will over-indulge any excuse and make shit up to save their own asses. This includes calling out IPs. If he takes that course, he'll be flying with the same IPs that he called out. That doesn't make for a friendly environment and will follow you to phase 3 and beyond. HD
  5. Here's the thing to remember. Everybody goes to a commissioning source, but not everybody goes the PME in-residence. Big blues loves her some PME. Hacker really said it best. In the big scheme, no DG stands alone. But add them to a history of above average performance and they push you above the herd. HD
  6. That checklist is incomplete... GEAR - UP FLAPS - UP STAND - UP (NAV) HEELS - UP (LOAD) HD
  7. "Fun" stories? No. His shenanigans were cruel and tragic. HD
  8. Here's my take: Do pilots have to wear there shoulder harnesses at all times? No. With that said, I always wore the shoulder harness. If you ask me, the intent of the reg is to allow FEs to undo their shoulder straps so they can lean forward and throw switches on the panels. HD
  9. Looks like they've got a lot of people in the production that worked on Band of Brothers. I'm definitely in. HD
  10. Glad to hear he got shit canned. Sad to see it took this long for it to happen. HD
  11. I had a good laugh at this one: "F/A/FA/EA/EA-F/A-18A/B/C/D/E/F/G/G2/H/K Multirole Fighter " HD
  12. Not exactly. I was in that squadron. HD
  13. "C-17 hopeful". I guess that's the military way of saying "gay curious" HD
  14. I always assumed that was standard in the C-17 community. HD
  15. Grades - First Flying Time - Second PT - Third ROTC clubs - Fourth That's the formula. HD
  16. No need to lock it. We could use some entertainment. Obviously, this is one of two situations: 1) The lowest SA cadet on the face of the earth...ever. 2) Someone trolling and/or third-party humiliating someone who really did get that tattoo. I'm postitive it's the latter. Either way, this thread will be good for a laugh so I'll keep it open until it gets out of hand. HD
  17. I couldn't agree more. Take the fun away and the crew dogs will take the fun somewhere else. Personally, I don't think the club will ever be an institution again. Senior leadership made a bad choice by ramping up the fun police at the club since we learned afterward that we could do the same thing in our own squadron. Not to mention, we learned that we could do it without paying club dues. I don't really see anything that can be done to shift it back to the club, nor do I think it should happen. HD
  18. From af.mil http://www.af.mil/news/story.asp?id=123147806 Airline offers $1 military fares -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 5/5/2009 - WASHINGTON (AFNS) -- In honor of National Military Appreciation Month, JetBlue is offering active-duty military personnel $1 fares for domestic, nonstop flights for a limited time. The flights must depart from the two JetBlue cities nearest to the nation's capital: Washington Dulles International Airport in Dulles, Va., and Richmond International Airport in Richmond, Va. The airline also will donate $15,000 to the Wounded Warrior Project, a nonprofit organization that honors and empowers wounded warriors. To take advantage of the offer, servicemembers must book between May 5 and May 7, or while seats last, for travel between May 8 and May 31 from Dulles or Richmond to any JetBlue destination in the continental United States served nonstop from those airports. Proof of eligibility is required. The fare is available to active-duty servicemembers only. Retirees, reservists and military families are not eligible for this offer. Nonstop destinations served by JetBlue from Dulles include Boston, Los Angeles/Long Beach and Oakland in California, Fort Lauderdale and Orlando in Florida, and New York/JFK. Nonstop destinations from Richmond include Boston, Fort Lauderdale, Orlando and New York/JFK. Upon check-in, military travelers must present a valid Department of Defense common access card and official documentation at the JetBlue service counter verifying authorized leave from duty to show proof of active status. Travel booked with this offer is not eligible for online flight check-in or at an airport kiosk. Failure to present these documents will void the reservation, officials said. Officials emphasized that tickets for the special fare cannot be purchased online or at the airport service counter. Servicemembers are responsible for applicable taxes and fees. To book the $1 fare, call 1-800-JETBLUE (538-2583) and select Option 4. -------------------------------------- HD
  19. Seriously WTF. Does this guy have nothing better to do? Not to mention, if your life's dream is to show off your uniform collection, you might want to QC it. I'm pretty sure Crocs weren't standard issue in the past. HD
  20. In never fails in this thread. The Deid just gets worse and worse with every update. UFB-ly gay. HD
  21. Interesting, I didn't know that about the J. So with the oil cooler augmentation, do you see any rise at all in the oil temps when reversing on the ground or is it just a decreased amount? HD
  22. I have to agree with EvilEagle. It definitely depends on what you're flying. In the Herk he have the luxury of going to idle with the four speed brakes of freedom, reverse, and a big time brake system. High speed aborts aren't the same danger to us that they are to an aircraft that only uses brakes to slow down. I think the big reason people brief against a high speed abort is the brakes. The brakes are already warm from taxiing out. If you did a static takeoff, there's some more heat. Then add that to the energy absorbed during a high speed abort where you're using max braking. It's a likely time for a brake fire. But like the man said above, different situations and different actions. HD
  23. Seriously, how is a new and more advance method of making a presentation going to save us millions? HD
