  1. Watching the marathon today. Excellent footage, but damn I wish I had DVR'ed it, they have more commercials than program.
  2. Just finished Hero Found by Bruce Henderson. It is about a Navy A1 pilot in Vietnam who was shot down, captured, escaped, and eventually rescued. It was a quick read, author wasn't a pilot so some of the flying stuff was a little elementary , but the E&E story is incredible. Amazing story of the will to survive.
  3. Chem, I would go talk to the guy who is handling your paperwork at your unit. They might be able to put in a request to get you in to Columbus, or whichever works best for you. I'm not saying it is going to work, but it's worth a shot.

The Air Force accuses Capt. Jared Foley of reckless conduct for approving an additional airdrop without command approval. Sgt. Francis Campion of Holidaysburg, Pa., was the last out of the plane on July 10, 2011, in windy conditions. He was supposed to land at Fort Harrison's Marshall Field but hit a roof and fell to his death. Campion was training with the West Virginia National Guard and had served in Afghanistan. 5. Just finished "Bury Us Upside Down" and "Low Level Hell" excellent books, couldn't stop reading them. Thanks for the recommendations.
  6. Yup...That is what I did. Alternate at one unit, went shopping, got picked up by another unit. Dudes from the original unit wished me luck and said they would have done the same thing.
  7. Nailed It!!! Which Guard unit never called you back for an interview anyway?
  8. Good advice all... Retake the test. Try Catbox's technique, also try scanning back and forth, side to side, letting your eyes go blurry almost, and only look at the bottom half of the circles. A doc told me this trick once and it worked very well. Good luck to you.
  9. Now that was Funny!!!
  10. The fact that she lacked a Y chromosome probably didn't hurt her chances either though.
  11. It is worth a shot. My guard unit took an AD nav and put her through UPT.
  12. I believe it was mentioned before, so I second it..."By Any Means Necessary" by William E Burrows is a well researched book on the cold war overflights of the USSR. It brings to light a lot of men who were shot down or went missing that never got the heroe's burial they deserved.
