    Equity.

A lot of people are under the misunderstanding that DE&I means diversity, equality and inclusion.

It may have originally, but now it means diversity, equity and inclusion. AKA management/leadership forced outcomes no matter the input.

Also known as make the slides green.

I'm wondering when Boeing's next delay will be announced.
As of a year ago, plane didn't have an internal ladder, and the side of it wasn't stressed to hang a ladder on it.

It still doesn’t have an internal ladder.

I notice that you rarely comment on issues lately, but instead focus on ad hominem. Is it because you've been so consistently and embarrassingly wrong on nearly everything that you're afraid to say anything of substance?

I’m seeing a large percentage of heavies per drop and very few fighters. Is that a good representation of the typical ratio, or is that just the “civil path to wings” guys?

We cut T-38 slots due to J85 engine underproduction.

Every country spies on each other. You think we don't spy on our allies? Token Example here. Second token example here.

But yes, I do think Israel is our ally. It's also the only legitimate democracy in that part of the world...which is generally the type of government we also like to support.

Do we have a perfect past with Israel? Of course not...the USS Liberty incident being a great example. But I'd much rather support Israel than any other country in that region just based on values and morality alone. How often do you see Israeli citizens shouting "Death to America" or burning American flags?

Israel can do what it wants.

     We shouldn’t be funding it.

  6. Israel isn’t a friend to the US.

The Israeli government is interested in exploiting the US for their own ends. (To be fair, this is what any country should be do so I don’t blame them.)

We should feel no moral obligation to support them.

Do a cursory search and you can see the Israelis has their intelligence apparatus targeted towards America

Pretty sure he’s referring to the techniques of a deliberate offset for a known amount of time to build in final turn spacing.

And I get the overall vibe about joking about instrument flying and just make it happen but I’ve lost a couple of friends to mistakes in instrument flying (which I’m sure a lot of you have as well) so I am a hammer when it comes to instrument procedures.

    I understand that.

If lateral spacing references are known for your aircraft, that can be briefed and executed.

Circling approaches are more dangerous than anyone realizes for reasons not mentioned in the video.

First at least from my corner of the world there was generally very little thought into how to execute the maneuver ie: fly 30 degrees off runway heading for x seconds to obtain proper lateral distance for final turn. I generally assumed this to be because the PC-12 airframe is pretty versatile.

Second the ROC for the MDA puts you pretty close to the obstacle if you have even a modest deviation from the minimums and any sort of altimeter error. I never understood why the U28 V2 stated Q- for any deviation below the MDA even if momentary after AIS I finally understood.

Second the ROC in the FAA remains constant irregardless of Circling Category vice ICAO where the ROC increases the higher your category is. Cat A ICAO = 300. Cat D = ~394

Third in the FAA, TERPS criteria uses a floating scale from 25 at A to 22 degrees bank at Cat E whereas ICAO uses 20 degrees bank.

With 75 feet of altimeter error and a deviation of 100 feet from the MDA you could be within 125 feet of the obstacle you really don’t want to contact.

It’s not a dangerous maneuver when planned correctly and when you are aware of the risks but it’s seldomly trained to or executed in that manner, it’s a bean.

I have heard from bros who have gone to the airlines circling is almost treated like an EP.

A circling approach is a visual maneuver under an IFR clearance.

There is no need to time.

A PCS... to learn how to instruct in the T-38?

    YGBSM.

Background of students. There were so many additional sorties that in reality the course was under resourced.

Pilots that haven’t hand flown much since pilot training did  not do well in a syllabus that was originally primarily designed for 11Fs with a smattering of 11Bs

There are now front seat contact (transition) and formation progress checks before rear cockpit flying after in the IQ check. UIPs that can’t hack it are cut before wasting resources.

Any insight on T-38 PIT being coded as a PCS now? A friend of mine just got orders for a PCS to Randolph for PIT prior to assignment at Columbus. I've heard the time to completion has recently been getting longer (sts) due to mx issues with the 38. The ETCA announcement still says it's a TDY out-and-back but they haven't updated course information since January. If they formally extended the course length past 20 weeks then I think 36-2110 rules regarding PCS vs TDY for training apply. That's the only explanation I can think of. Trying to make some life plans, and this would certainly change things...

    C track (non-fighter/faip) ETCA is explicit it’s a PCS.

Apologize for my ignorance, but why the F was she ever allowed to fly an AF plane during airshow demos? Or did this particular tail not belong to us at the time?

I think it was an agreement between Beech and the USAF before we had our demo team.

Not sure though. We may not have accepted it yet and got it cheaper

I worked a few shows with the T-6 Demo Team.  Small footprint, low cost, and good publicity for the AF.  Overall, it was a real good idea... which of course means they killed it.  There are not enough demo teams to meet the demand for them, and an AF T-6 Demo would be a welcome addition to the airshow circuit... and would give the AF the ROI it wants.

I met the Demo pilot at the airshow parties.  IIRC, he went on to leave the AF and work as a Textron T-6 Demo pilot, with some sort of involvement in AT-6 program.

I also recall that Patty Wagstaff did the T-6 Demo for a short period of time.  I remember a story floating around that she ran that T-6 pretty hard in her routine.  Like real hard.

That T-6 that Patty flew is at CBM. Talking to the FCF guys there, it always has problems. Apparently it was over-G’d constantly during her demos.

I know it's hard to quantify what we're losing, but when we gut the fundamentals it has cascading effects down the line. I'm pretty sure If you get enough timeline obsessed big brain AETC types in a room they could convince themselves landings can be taught only in the sim.

They aren’t timeline obsessed. HAF/A3 has provided an order to produce.

Which AETC can’t do anyways because the s-rate for the T-6 and T-38 is in the shitter.

So, which American cities are you willing to give up again?

If these are losses, I'll take it over the constant "winning" we did in Iraq and Afghanistan...

That’s a strawman, there isn’t an active invasion in the US leading to a total decimation of the American male.

The F-15C is on the way out and being replaced by either the F-35 or the F-15EX. For now, Portland, New Orleans, and Fresno will get F-15EX. Barnes, Jacksonville, and Klamath Falls will get F-35. As a result of Klamath, I'm assuming that Seymour Johnson will pick up the EX training mission but that's purely a guess. I don't know if Klamath will be continuing as a B Course but I assume it will (similar to San Antonio) to help absorb training capacity.

Seymour will be training EX as part of E.

Kingsley will be an F-35 FTU along with Ebbing
