PBS is great. The only guys at AA who don't like it are mostly the same ones who refused to learn it.

The coverage days are crap and there aren't enough layers.  We could've picked better software.

I couldn't agree more with your 3 bullet points.  You most certainly should not feel the least bit guilty about doing legit mloa that may happen to fall on a holiday.  Hell, I had to drop a holiday trip because I was thrown on orders for a deployment earlier than expected...and Guard standard, I didn't get my orders until a week out.  This isn't what I'm talking about.  It's habitual shit that happens month after month (and two months running to drop holiday trips when seniority/staffing doesn't allow).  I get it, some people give zero fucks about anyone other than themselves, that's life.  It's just shitty when there are dudes that habitually use it to give themselves super-senioirty, while the rest of us are out there get to deal with the increased scrutiny while trying to do the right thing.

    Delta?

My wife is hot af, I just know myself and when looks become stares, I can get tempted. Not the correct environment to place myself into if I want to stay faithful to my wife. Just knowing my own limits and boundaries I guess.

    True...

What kind of fuckery is this?

Been hearing some rumors about some airlines that have started to not look quite so favorably towards part-time guard/reserve bubbas in the hiring process. I know officially it’s against USERRA to do that, but can anyone confirm/deny this is starting to happen out there?

    Not true at AA.

I dunno. I kinda feel like the inconvenience of me always flying around that airspace far exceeds the necessity for someone else to fly in circles within it.

If you're not getting paid by the minute, you're doing it wrong anyway.

Move Tyndall mission to literally anywhere, rebuild base as new UPT base. Move all assets of (take your pick: CBM, DLF, END) to Tyndall. Create massive reserve squadron for IPs. 80% AFRC, 20% AD, profit. AD will want to move there and AFRC guys will probably want to go full time.
    Profit.

Already an asspain to get to for a TR and the Raptor/WESP need the overwater airspace.

No personal offense... it’s a terrible idea.

As the storm comes closer inland and gets over shallower waters the rise and fall in sea state increases drastically. This would be where any commercial cargo barge or slow wide flat decked ship you could crane and lash airplanes too would be. Boats don’t push inland during storms for good reason, unless you’re in a harbor that gives protection you’re better off out to sea where the wave action is less eventful running pumps wide open.

Add to that a vessel like that isn’t made to go fast, so unless you’re keeping it at the place for a rainy day (bad pun unintentional) it’s very unlikely by the time you’d recognize the danger and issue the order to move it would get to you, get loaded, and get clear.

Could a Chinook sling load a 50k lb jet and if so how far?

Put them on a stick or train type round table out in the open and let them weathervane. Might need a screen for airborne debris. Not perfect but might minimize damage.

Put them on a treadmill so they can't take off!

The F-22 was initially supposed to go to Holloman and NM politics got AFSOC into Cannon. With the airspace available out here I wouldn’t be surprised if something ends up in the land of entrapment.

The F-22 did initially go to Holloman and moved from Holloman to Tyndall.

You guys all realize the first post in this thread was like 14 years ago?  We are at least 3 lawsuits and 4 government shutdowns away from the first piece of sheet metal being stamped out.  Shit gonna change

Marines will add VTOL before it's over and then it won't be able to fly within 35 miles of a thunderstorm.

Why would you be up at 0430 ?

That’s gotta be either a great binge or  terrible idea or both.

I think that's pretty common for the "get off my lawn" types in their later years.  That's also why they eat dinner at 1600.

  12. Just switched two days ago after TMobile erroneously locked my unlocked iPhone 7 Plus and I was out of a phone for two days after switching to AT&T.

I prefer the user interface of android (widgets and such) over Apple.  Being able to send texts from your PC (messages.android.com) is also nice.
