  1. Where are you and how do I go there? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Right... which is why I don't understand why the early bonus takers are pissed, other than they sold their stock before the peak of the market Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Full disclosure- I'm a quitter, non bonus taker. I'm also a guy who thinks that if you make a deal, you adhere to that deal. Frankly, given the environment last year, I think anyone who thought the bonus would go DOWN this year was foolish. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Fly yourself to karate lessons? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. This thread makes me feel like I'm the only one who doesn't personally know everyone else on this thread Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I love a good keyboard controversy. I hope we wring as much entertainment out of this before something bad happens Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Why should the AF pay an individual- who already named their price for an extended commitment last year with the ridiculous early commitment program- more money without incurring an additional commitment? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. I like stories from anonymous sources the best. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  10. So it's mostly about the money and kinda about the cbts? I say this tongue in cheek. I find in my later years that QOL has a huge dollar value for me, but i believe a lot of the frustration here and in the rated community in general is an assumption that we are underpaid for our service. I generally agree that assumption is correct in the market place right now (hooray capitalism). Where I disagree is that the military is obligated to pay us more. Also, i try to keep in perspective that i make more than most of my classmates from college. The idea of windfall profit sharing sounds awesome. Working 12 days a month sounds orgasmic. Getting furloughed and having to withdraw from my savings sounds as bad as an oral transmission of the rash around BQZip's mom's hoo-ha. Try not to shit on those who stick around for the stability of a paycheck- they may or may not be the lucky ones should the economy go to shit. After all, they still get to act out their childhood fantasies every time they go JFS start 2, and still have enough in the bank to binge order from amazon. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  11. So it's about the money? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I read all these posts about idealism and how it's not about the money with a half-cocked smirk on my face- the same smirk I make after I leave the money on the table for BQZip's mom. No one wants I admit they are a money grubbing whore, but if the gov were to make it rain and out bid the private sector, we could go back to posting pictures of boobs on this forum and move on. Lastly, the AF aint never gonna out bid the private sector, which is cool because that's not how things should roll in a republic. I hope all who reaching over temp levels of anger can find their chi under a different banner (delta, fedex, etc). In the mean time, the ART bonuses aren't too bad. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. I agree. As much as I hate green dot training, UAVs and staff tours, the realities of the military (deployments, staff jobs, etc) won't go away. Nor will the AF ever compete (rightfully so, IMO) with the civilian market for jobs. Much like a horse-pill of penicillin needs to be swallowed after a date with bqzip's mom, so does the realities of the military. I'm all for more efficient management, but when the airlines pay like they do for the amount of work they expect, the trend will continue. But what do I care, I'm in the guard. 14. Then what fixed retention problems during those in-between years? Did things improve (leadership, pay, etc), or did pilots simply not have other opportunities outside of the air force? If it is the later, this would give credence to the argument that we've heard from the general level that retention is economy based. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
