The Left, and media said the same things about Ronald Reagan when he became President. They called him a dumb actor who had no experience. What they didn't realize, was Like Trump, Reagan was a leader....
The difference is that those critiques were invalid in Reagan's case. Reagan's last movie was about 15 years before his 1980 run. In the meantime he served two terms as Governor of California. He also served in the Army in WWII and was President of the Screen Actor's Guild. Reagan was more than experienced by 1980. Trump not so much. Donald Trump has no government experience at all. I don't know how that's going to go, but we're about to find out.

I'll be a data point. I would have gladly served until 20 as a Captain with a 1:1 dwell if I was actually flying. Instead, someone at AFPC decided I should go to drones because I was on the wrong VML. Now, instead of the Air Force getting another 10 years on their investment, I'll be a contractor in 3 weeks. Deuces.

I blame their parents; they raised this lot. You get exactly what you tolerate. Where are the news stories about dads showing up at college campuses to violently apply boot leather to hindquarters?

If Trump really wanted to be clever and spiteful, he'd pardon her. That would tag her as a criminal while avoiding the media firestorm that would ensue from prosecuting her.

Whoever he is, he's probably full of shit. I've been through border patrol internal checkpoints about 50 times and never been asked to show ID. I get asked "Are you a US citizen?" and reply "Yes." Then I'm on my way. I offered my ID the first time and they didn't want to see it. I'd like to see this sort of thing go away. So I comply with the law and support political candidates who want to change it. This "AM I BEING DETAINED?!" nonsense helps no-one and solves nothing.

I'm hoping for some Nixon goes to China moments out of him. We're in desperate need of police reform, an end to civil forfeiture and some better system than Obamacare for health insurance. Whether we'll get anything like that, I have no idea.

They do have dets at these schools. My class if I remember correctly maybe commissioned one my year. They just are not getting them to stay in the program which was a problem at my det.
Was there any common thread with dudes dropping out?

I think Spencer hits the nail on the head with the DFP being lack of black pilots to start with. I've been in 10 years and I can count the number of black pilots I've flown with on two hands and have a few fingers left over. Why they're not applying for pilot training, I don't know. If this is something Big Blue is interested in addressing, maybe we should stand up a few ROTC dets at HBCUs.

And earlier this year we were non-voling Buff pilots to the MQ-9. This organization is such a clownshow.

This is like a commercial for Bad Idea Jeans. Apply for the normal tourist passport and pay the $60 to get it expedited if you're in a hurry. https://travel.state.gov/content/passports/en/passports/services/expedited.html

And what exactly do you want them to say? That you are right and they are part of the problem? ...
Actually, that would be a nice start. Admitting you have a problem is the first step for Alcoholics, it might work for the Air Force also.

I'm not.

I know a guy who got picked up on his 8th look at last years board.

You've got 60 days from Thursday to give them an answer. Why not let Big Blue squirm a bit waiting?
That's appealing in its way, but I plan on being gone by mid-January. I want to get this show on the road, and realistically I probably need to be mostly outprocessed prior to Christmas break.

I was notified via phone, so I haven't seen the paperwork yet. My understanding is that if I accept it (I won't), then my current ADSCs come back into force but there is no additional ADSC for accepting it. I should get a look at the paperwork probably next week, I'll update then.

I was notified today. Not promoted on the second look with a DNP, continuation offered. Fuck my life; I wanted a check on the way out. I have multiple negative indicators and I'm sitting here beer in hand trying to figure out what else I could have done to get fired. Apparently we're really desperate for pilots. At least I get out of my ADSC early.

Guys I found an excellent poem online that might clarify this:
Republicans are Red.
Democrats are Blue.
Neither of them give a fuck about people like You.

With this happening on a large scale, I wonder if it's viral marketing for the "It" remake.

I think that's the closest I've ever seen someone come to death and walk away.

After Sully, Castaway and Apollo 13 I suspect we won't be naming any aircraft after a Tom Hanks movie anytime soon.

Had I known getting stuck in drones was an option, I would not have joined the Air Force.

Just out of curiosity: What happens if you DQ before inprocessing, flunk OTS, or wash out of UPT as Reservist
in Air National Guard / Air Force Reserves

Caveat: my experiences were 10 years ago. I saw people wash out of OTS and they were sent back to civilian life. Prior enlisted folks went back to being enlisted active duty. We had a handful of reservists, but they all graduated. UPT washouts fell into 2 categories: couldn't hack it and quitters. Quitters tended to get quickly outprocessed back to civilian life while good dudes who flew poorly were generally retrained into some other career field. YMMV.
