Well since you seem to think you are the expert on this entire process, why don't you tell us who does have the waiver authority. Easy for you to sit there and say something makes zero sense when you aren't willing to back it up with any proof that the person is wrong.

I wouldn't get your hopes up. Know someone who had less than a week left on their UPT ADSC and was denied and another with less than 2 months on their UPT ADSC that was denied. Both applied on the first day of the application window and found out last week.

Agree that if it is going to stay that way for the near future, then maybe candidates should be the only ones allowed to enroll upon release of the promotion results. The time limit for the new ACSC in-correspondence is 5 years, correct? Like you said, it allows you to work on it at your own pace and get it done before the IPZ board since you know there is no real chance of going in-residence.

This actually makes sense if it works out this way. The third look for IDE is the same year that the 2 BPZ for O-5 meets. If a person doesn't get picked up in their third look for school, then they have a year and a half to knock out IDE before their IPZ board. If they legitimately don't allow people to enroll in correspondence it until after their third look, it will be reliant upon job performance to get them to school. Enough of this "Even though you are a select, you need to knock out IDE in correspondence in order to attend in residence." So sick of the current mindset of some leadership. I would love to see this actually come into play, but I think the biggest problem is going to be changing the mindset of those in charge. Big Blue is a machine that just keeps churning along and it is difficult to change it's course. People get stuck in this "I had to do it in correspondence in order to attend in residence", or "Well, that is the way we've always done it." Hopefully he can get this right.

Doesn't IP school have an ADSC? That course is usually only a month or two.

It is from the AFPC Field Message org box that was sent out via email. It's the exact same one ThreeHoler quoted a page or two back.

Wait. Instead of just holding onto the 11X and 12X apps until they come out with the legit criteria; they are going to reject all those that have a flying training and make everyone reapply once the new PSDM is released. WTF?

Even better question: Where is this individual in the VSP process? I don't think the AMC/A3 has any say in waiving ADSCs since that is an A1 function. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Technically it is under the Unit Commander section which may or may not be a squadron commander. Either way, it surprises me that it isn't under the Wing Commander section.

I doubt there are very many wing kings who will check "yes".

I just looked and "Referred to BPO" is what it says on the actual application. Referred to AFPC Voluntary Separation BPO is what it says in CMS. They appear to be the same thing.

Mine doesn't show that it was ever referred to BPO. That's weird.

Make sure you have pop-up blockers disabled because it opens up the application in a separate window. Also, make sure you are using IE. I didn't have much luck with other browsers.

Ya right. Like they have enough foresight to make 2 completely separate PSDMs, one for those who are RIF eligible and one for those who are not. Don't give them that much credit as I have yet to see where they deserve it. Last time they were approved/denied at the AFPC level.

The more I think about this, the more pissed off I get. How do they justify not waiving a single ######ing day of a 3650 day commitment? Even if an individual has 6 months left on their UPT commitment, they have served 95% of what they signed for and yet people are getting Palace Chase approved with over 4 years left on their ADSC ()...WHAT WHAT THE ######?!?!?! This just absolutely blows my mind even though I know it really shouldn't.

Nope, the ones in the PSDMs have the caveat about being TERA eligible.

If it is anything like TERA, it'll be year group + AFSC to determine eligibility and then the following: 1. No ADSC 2. ADSC/Bonus remaining (least to greatest) 3. Projected assignments 4. Commander's recommendation This was directly from the DCO given last week but was for the TERA part. I would imagine it would be along the same lines for VSP, but who knows.

Just got off the phone with the Total Force Service Center and they said the application procedure under 14-08 was a misprint. They said to use the process in 13-130 and sent the following: 4. VSP Application Instructions: Access the vMPF via the AFPC Secure website. Select “Apply for Voluntary Separation”, and when prompted to “Select a Separation Provision”, select “SECAF Approved Early Separation Program”. Include “I am requesting to separate under the Voluntary Separation Pay (VSP) Program” in the remarks section. Refer to the PSD Guide for application procedures and instructions at https://mypers.af.mil , then under “FSS Resources” select “Program Guides” and then select “View PSD Guide Listing”, then “Separations”. The Officer Voluntary Separation application instructions are listed in Section E of the PSD Guide.

WTFO? What commissioning year and airframe? Did you have any ADSCs?

I wonder if all they did was look at the matrix and see red for your category and denied it. If so, that sucks.

You can save it as many times as you want between now and the 6th. You'll see in the top right corner it updates it with a timestamp. They don't want you hitting "Finish" on page 10 until the 6th at 0000 CST. That will be the timestamp they go off of WRT whether you submitted in the application window. Granted, this is all based off of my memory from doing this 3 years ago, but I'd rather be safe than have my application kicked back for applying outside the window.
