No, it is not a nuke going off but rather a CH47 landing.

  7. What the hell is a matter with you guys? I had a interesting conversation with the Beech rep and the curious problem of wing stress the AF seems to have. WTF and why would you ever try that in a King Air? That is why we can't have nice things!
  8. I guess it is good they would do it for no money. The promotion rates for Army WO AV types in 11 was: 58% for W3, 57% for W4 and 18% for W5. Adopt the WO system as it is and 4 out of ten would be out of a job before they would have normally have made CPT.
  9. Warrants will not help a perceived leadership issue. For one, they have a pyramid up or out selection also. Making W3 has become very difficult not to mention W4. We have more Generals than W5's. And it is still good bye to the two time non selects at each grade. Besides, the random W that gets put in charge of 2-3 aircraft and 10-15 people not included, warrants are not leaders. You will never see a warrant as a Battalion(Squadron) Commander or a Brigade (Wing) Commander. They are the Army efficiently utilizing skills available at a relatively cheap cost. I am sure I will take some shots for this but, don't like your leadership? Then stop saying I just want to fly and learn some leadership skills. The step up to the plate and take some of the non flying jobs that will eventually put you in charge so you can be a positive influence on your organization.
  10. There was a wounded warrior fund raiser across the bridge at KPIE. We were asked to bring over an aircraft for a display. Jill Kelly (along with other clones) was there introducing herself as a friend of GEN P’s (found that odd). The whole affair was something right off Real Housewife’s. I even went home and told my wife I thought I was on an episode of The Real Housewife’s of Tampa. One of the high heeled Barbie’s even told our FRG that we had to give them half of the money we made selling unit gear. That didn’t happen. The weirdest thing was, they were raising money for “new age meditation” for wounded warriors. Communicating with your inner peace kind of stuff. Well, there was a very very low turn out (go figure) and the ladies all started getting upset snipping each other. It was definitely worth the price of admission. As for the current drama, I think there is definitely more to the story.
  11. One of my Medics contracted a GI infection that caused a hydraulics failure that lasted three weeks after going through there for R&R. Back in the states when he was in the hospital, the AF Dr asked him if he came through KAF.
  12. Captains are a dime a dozen. You think some O6 who has stars in his eyes is going to jump into the fire when a eager CPT is willing to?
  13. Three kinds of lies. Lies, damn lies and statistics. Defense News .
  14. I am all about the mission and saving/supporting our guys, but what is there to win here?
  15. My point (as a current army medevac commander assigned to a AC unit in country) is that if these are the battles you choose to fight, then your commander will have no credibility when it comes to preventing (UCMJ action, losing someone’s PC order etc....). Something I learned when I was enlisted in the AF. It is not always what they can't do to you, it is what they can.
  16. Have you tried to get the base commander to write a letter but actually include the AF in the mulit-cam? Shindand just published one form the commanders officer to cover all branches, but they did not mention the AF and muli-tcam. As to what Brock said, I would advise against that. Thumbing your nose at somebody just to flaunt military authority is not a good idea. Especially when you may need their help later. Doing so places your commander in a position where he has nothing to fight the important battles. I see plenty of AF guys wearing the multi-cam ground set here across from Habib's flight school. They wear it correctly and nobody says anything to them.
  17. Yeah, I mean how could a low and slow flying aircraft could ever work.
  18. The Army spent almost 20 years working on the Comanche. In the end when they finally cut the program, it freed up enough money to recap almost the entire fleet of Army Aircraft. http://articles.cnn.com/2004-02-23/us/helicopter.cancel_1_comanche-sikorsky-aircraft-corporation-schoomaker?_s=PM:US
  19. Get paid for by the Army.
  20. In one of the units we had a saying, "I have been fvcked before, and it felt a lot like this".
