Guest rotorhead
ANVIS 6, PVS 9, (all commercial F4949 family) have a 40 degree FOV when properly adjusted. Mil spec on the 9's is 20/30 in bright light, 20/35 in dim light (note, the system can have different gain and acuity tubes, like A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, etc.). Also, different tubes have different "minus" filters for different cockpit/HUD lighting. For example, H-60's with all blue lighting use G/H tubes with minus blue filters. Other designs might have minus yellow, leaky yellow, etc.

BFM this
Don't know the FARs on them, but commercial medivac operators must get thier choppers certified for use (lighting, etc). An article in this month's B&CA says that many operators are opting for the upgrade.
